Post by Siegfried de Strasbourg(D) on Apr 3, 2007 4:10:18 GMT -5
Age: 27
Race: Skaldi
Title: Future Baron de Strasbourg
Locations:
Strasbourg Estate (Camlach)
Strasbourg Townhome (City of Elua)
Deleuze & Strasbourg Medical Clinic (Night’s Doorstep)
Appearance:
Large and imposing, Siegfried never goes unnoticed. A brutish force of nature, he is however not unpleasant to the eye, a powerful being well over 6’4”, he stands tall and proud. His eyes, a light blue akin to the northern seas, reflect a conflicted personality.
He wears long blond hair down to his waist, but that should not be taken as a sign of feminity. Siegfried is manly to the tip of his coarse blond hair. Wide in shoulders and highly musculated, the Skaldi physician enjoys training physically and building his strength.
Though he is a skilled and sensible physician with deft and delicate hands, a strong warrior streak comes out of him, an image which he cultivates by wearing a short beard over his face.
Habitual wear:

Demeanor:
With only his first name left from his origins, he does not remember much of his own land and people, and his time with the thugs of Skaldia is but a vague undefined dream in his mind.
Though he embraces his identity as Skaldi in reaction to the badgering of his comrades, Siegfried feels a deep connection to Terre D’Ange. He cares little for Skaldia or its current politics, although he might, when the time comes, be curious to explore it. For now, though, he is content to be in Terre D'Ange, a land which he has come to love as his birthplace, and to serve its citizens to the best of his scientific abilities.
His overall demeanor may give him the appearance of aloofness and disregard, but the truth is Siegfried has no master other then his true passion for medical science, and can spend days locked up in his laboratories in his quest to better understand the mysteries of life. However, his medical practice will usually find him examining patients and writing prescriptions rather then indulging the wild pursuit of the mysteries of life. When he is not working as a physician, Siegfried can be found threading the City of Elua in the company of Yann no Strasbourg, his foster son.
History:
In Skaldia:
Born in the cold northlands of Skaldia, Siegfried barely remembers his family and his people. When he was very small lad of but a few years, Siegfried found great interest in experimenting on little animals and had a calculated curiosity about the inner workings of life. When he pushed further his explorations and interested himself in a neighboring tsingani little girl, he angered the chief of the kumpania.
Naistor the tsingani leader was angry, and took Siegfried away from his family on a cold night, with the intention to let him spend a night of penance on an isolated cliff. But when Naistor went back in the morning to find him, Siegfried was gone. Fearing that he might endure repercussions from the Skaldi villages, he led his kumpania to other grounds.
The night was traumatic for Siegfried. He called but it was too cold, too dark, and the Tsingani would never come back for him. He did not understand the reason for his punishment.
By sheer survival instinct, Siegfried made his way down the cliff, crying and freezing. He spent several days wandering, trying to find his way, and instead was found inert by a group of Skaldi road thugs. Entertained by his pugnacious demeanor, the thugs took him in at the bequest of their leader, Karlo, and he spent with them his first years, with barely any supervision aside from basic instructions such as “eat this” and “sleep now”, which was quite fine for him as he had free leave to pursue his quest to better understand nature and life in general.

In Camlach:
After a year of this, Siegfried’s time with the Skaldi thugs came to an end when they came upon the marshals of Terre D’Ange. Unbeknownst to them, they had crossed into the Barony of Strasbourg, in easternmost Camlach. The thugs did not survive the encounter, but little Siegfried did, although he nearly was overlooked by the marshalls in the pile of dead bodies. Traumatised and still covered in the blood of Karlo, the thug who had fostered him, he was picked up by the Marshalls and taken to the closest peer to decide his fate.
Stricken by his skaldic beauty and energy, the Baronne Hortense De Strasbourg took him in and formally adopted him when he was 8. A calm and loving widow with no sons, she gave Siegfried all the love she had, thus tempering his brash behavior. This rearing did him good, and he learned to soften his demeanor and his impulses.
In the City of Elua:
When he was 15, the Baroness sent Siegfried to the City of Elua to study surgery and medicine under the tutelage of Robert Deleuze, a long time friend of the late Baron De Strasbourg. Siegfried soon became Deleuze’s star pupil, exhibiting both a keen interest in science and a practical understanding of the Medical Practice.

Though is he is still training to hone his surgical skills with his former tutor, Siegfried has grown to be a competent medical practitioner. His precise understanding of human anatomy and biology, and his passion of science have undoubtedly allowed him to be one of the rising stars of his profession.
Siegfried travels frequently to Camlach as he has a strong connection to his adoptive mother. Though age has been taking its toll on her, his diligent care has participated a great deal in the Baronne’s renewed strength and energy in the management of the Barony.
Siegfried's current situation is detailed in Part 3 of his back story : terredange.proboards38.com/index.cgi?board=destrasbourg&action=display&thread=1175619100&page=1
NPCs:
Naistor: approximately 50 years old, Naistor is a dark and sullen fellow whose only concern is the welfare of Louanna, his only daughter. Louanna was Siegfried’s playmate when they were both toddlers, and she was the one he examined, causing Naistor’s wrath. Naistor’s and Louanna’s locations are unknown. |
Karlo: (deceased) the chief of the skaldi thugs who reared Siegfried for a few years in the flatlands. Karlo was killed by the Mashalls of Terre D’Ange when the group crossed into Camlach. |
Baronne Hortense De Strasbourg: 62 years old. The Baronne is a tall, plump figure with generous curves and straightforward manners. Born in L’Agnace, the Baronne married Hector De Strasbourg out of love but also out of necessity. Although she never bore him children, Hector and Hortense loved each other, and she was heart broken when peritonitis took him at the age of 35, in the first gusts of spring. A woman of character, the Baronne took over management of the estate competently, though she had strong concerns about her succession, as the Baron had passed on with no children. When the Skaldi thugs crossed into Camlach, she was still in mourning. When she adopted Siegfried she was merely following a motherly instinct as well as trying to fulfill her need to break loose of her solitude. |
Robert Deleuze: a short man of 65 years, Robert Deleuze has no restraints about food or other earthly pleasures. Hailing from L’Agnace, the round physician traveled to Camlach on several occasions to soothe the Baron’s ailments, as he is the Baronne’s milk brother. When the Baronne asked him to take Siegfried as an apprentice, Deleuze had some reservations considering the Skaldi were still shunned in Terre D’Ange. But after meeting the boy, he could not resist such a curious pupil and has grown to like Siegfried and look onto him as his successor in the practice. |
Yann nò Strasbourg: a young blond D’Angeline boy of 6 years, Yann’s mother died during labor. A commoner with no apparent family, she was found by Siegfried one morning at the door of the practice, in the first stages of labor. As Deleuze was in Camlach that week, Siegfried had no choice but to try to help her with what he knew as an apprentice. Despite his best efforts, the conditions were such as the mother did not survive the delivery. With no information as to her name or who her family was, 20 year old Siegfried was left with the newborn to care. Unable to commit the child to one of the Houses as he’d grown attached to him, Siegfried sought permission from the Baronne to adopt him and has been rearing the boy with the help of Sylvie. Yann has proven to be a brilliant boy with a powerful imagination and a generally joyfull, if not comical, demeanor. He has an unflinching loyalty to his foster Father and is one of the rare people who to make him laugh full-heartedly. |
Sylvie Roche: a stern and ordinary looking D’Angeline woman of 30 years, Sylvie’s family has been in the service of the Strasbourg family for generations. When Siegfried was sent to the City of Elua for his studies, she was asked to tag along. Since Siegfried has moved into his own townhouse, she has been keeping the household well tended too, and has been acting as Yann’s motherly figure. |
Joelle Murat: the medical secretary at the Medical Practice. Joelle is a soft-spoken 25 year old D'Angeline from Eisande who has been hired to assist Deleuze and Siegfried in their medical practice. |
