Trying to Forget

[Denis de Trevalion]

I nodded.
"It was quite a sight." I agreed. "Do you think the Queen will grace us with another one next year?"

[Fiona d'Anwar]

"Surely you have attended more of these sorts of things than I," I replied with a smile. "Was it a success?"

[Denis de Trevalion]

"I would say so," I replied. "Though I have only attended a few fetes." I shrugged and took a sip of ale.
"Did you attend with anyone?"

[Fiona d'Anwar]

"No, I did not. I know very few in the City," I explained. "But I did meet an adept who was very eager I visit Balm for his massage." I grinned wryly.

[Denis de Trevalion]

I chuckled.
"Ah, I see." I smiled widely. "A handsome gentleman from Balm you say." I wondered if she was the type to take pleasures from just any adept.
"Will you visit?"

[Fiona d'Anwar]

I shook my head. "I doubt it. He was polite enough, but there wasn't that... spark, if you will." I shrugged a little with a smile, and took another sip of ale.

[Denis de Trevalion]

"Spark eh." I replied thinking of Noelle for a moment, I smiled to myself thinking about how much I sparked with her. I looked into my glass and swirled it before taking a snip and shaking my head.
"What does that mean to you Fiona?" I asked curiously, now looking at her.

[Fiona d'Anwar]

"Sometimes there is lust between two individuals. Sometimes there's not. That's what I mean by spark," I replied with a smile. "An immediate reaction." I traced the rim of my cup idly as I met his gaze.

[Denis de Trevalion]

"And if there's more then that," I said looking at her thoroughly as she touched her cup idly.
"What is that called?"

[Fiona d'Anwar]

"More how?" I asked, smiling under his scrutiny.

[Denis de Trevalion]

"More then just a spark, more then just lust." I said raising a brow and taking a sip. "What is that called?"

[Fiona d'Anwar]

"Love or obsession," I replied with a wry grin. "Depending on the flavour." His questions made me wonder what motivated them.

[Denis de Trevalion]

I chuckled and nodded.
"To love...or obsession." I said raising my glass and taking a long sip.

[Fiona d'Anwar]

I shrugged. "Why not?" I asked, raising my glass as well. "To love or obsession."

"So should I ask, or just let you drink?" I said after I lowered my glass.

[Denis de Trevalion]

I chuckled.
"You women beguile me so." I said honestly. "I'm not truely sure if I should love you or hate you."

[Fiona d'Anwar]

"Loving us is a much less bitter option," I offered, quirking a smile. "Sometimes even I don't understand my own gender. We're confusing creatures at times."

[Denis de Trevalion]

I nodded.
"I'm in love with a woman, or obsessed. And I'm not sure what I should do, especially since I'm to be courting another with honest intentions."

[Fiona d'Anwar]

"And then again, men aren't the most simple to understand either," I replied in the same tone. "How did you manage to get yourself into that pickle?"

[Denis de Trevalion]

I chuckled.
"Quite honestly believe me. I had intentions of courting a young lady at court, mostly because it was something to do. That was until I met a wonderful woman that I feel maddening about. She and I are a good match but I don't think either of us really wants to commit to each other in marriage. She's told me to persue the courtship with the other, and so I did, which added more problems. The woman became jealous, or at least I think she was." I shrugged.
"But in courting the young lady I've come to realize I really do like her and I wanted to court her truly."

[Fiona d'Anwar]

I had no idea who these two women were, and idly wondered who I could ask to find out. I so hated only knowing half the story.

"A woman whom you're obsessed with, who won't commit, and a woman whom you might end up loving, but who is the jealous type?" I summed up, brows raised. "I'm rather impressed. That is a rather large pickle."

[Denis de Trevalion]

I chuckled.
"You're only half right. Both women are jealous of the other, both women fell like they can't compete with the other, or so I gather." I took a long sip of ale.

[Fiona d'Anwar]

"That would be part of the reason I do my damnedest not to have two lovers at once," I replied, filling up his glass again. "Are they making you choose?"

[Denis de Trevalion]

I shook my head.
"Not really. Well in a way yes." The woman that I am sleeping with thinks I should pursue the other so that I'm sure I don't have feelings for her. But she also doesn't want me to include her in anything that may be construed as trying to make the other jealous." I shrugged.
"The one I wish to court doesn't realize how deeply I feel for the other and thinks that she's simply there to make her jealous."

[Fiona d'Anwar]

The games these three were playing with each other were ridiculous. "The woman you're obsessed with wants you to go after the other one, even though she's jealous?" I shook my head with a laugh. "No wonder you don't know what to do with the female gender."

[Denis de Trevalion]

I chuckled again.
"Will you tell them that?" I teased. "The funiest thing was the woman that I'm obsessed or possibly in love with, was supposed to be causal and we we're supposed to just bed mates."

[Fiona d'Anwar]

"Oh no, I'm staying out of this. There are already too many females in your situation as it is," I told him with another laugh. "Casual or otherwise."

[Denis de Trevalion]

I chuckled once more.
"Are you sure, I think I could fit another one in." I said with a wink and took a long drink before finishing what was in my glass.
"All I wanted was sex and look what it got me."

[Fiona d'Anwar]

"Perhaps the problem was you wanted good sex," I said with a grin. "Tends to form attachments if you have it too often with one person. Then they want to marry you. Well, in my experience anyway." I chuckled, tongue freer now from the ale.

[Denis de Trevalion]

I chuckled.
"Then I should only have bad sex?" I asked with a grin.

[Fiona d'Anwar]

"Who in all of our beautiful country would want or suggest that?" I asked with a laugh. "No, if all you want is sex and nothing more, then you need more than one source."
