Name: Eduardo de la Rosa, Principe de la Rosa
Age: 22
Race: Aragonian
Gender: Male
Appearance: Black hair frames strong features and perfectly offsets his hazel eyes. Standing an inch over six feet, Eduardo’s build is muscular but not overly so. A small scar on the back of his right hand is his only obvious flaw, one easily overlooked when taking him in as a whole.
History: Eduardo’s father, Principe Domingo de la Rosa, is brother to Morena de las Aragonia, Reina of Aragonia. Princessa Karyme de la Rosa, Eduardo’s mother, is distantly related to Luthar da las Aragonia, Rey of Aragonia. Yet, for all the ties to royalty, Eduardo has spent most of his life away from the Palacio de las Aragonia and at his family’s estate in southern Aragonia.
As third born and the second son, Eduardo knew from the day he could comprehend such things, that his was not a life meant to rule and that suited him perfectly. Eduardo preferred a life of pleasant luxury and found himself drawn at an early age to music. By the time he was eight, his interest and talent dictated that his parents provide him with a private tutor to keep their child’s attention focused on an acceptable activity and away from the less savory activities he tended to be drawn to if left unguided. Thus was Eduardo introduced to Jose’, the country’s most famed and skilled guitarist. Eduardo took to the flamenco guitar like no one Jose’ have ever taught before and by Eduardo’s tenth birthday the boy was giving concerts on his own.
It wasn’t until puberty passed that Eduardo’s singing voice developed as well, making him highly sought after by the nation’s most skilled flamenco dancers as their accompaniment. For a few years Eduardo would go on occasional tours, even appearing at command performances before the Rey and Reina.
This all came to a temporary end when during Eduardo’s nineteenth year a theater he was performing at caught fire and his right hand was broken and minorly burned while trying to escape. The doctors said that after time to heal and rehabilitate Eduardo would be able to play again with all his former skill, for the breaks had been clean and the burns would leave only a small scar. The worst consequence of the accident was that it left Eduardo without focus and without something to fill his time that brought him pleasure.
It was during this time that one of Eduardo’s friends introduced him to Belladonna, and Eduardo’s life was forever changed. The very first use of the drug left Eduardo addicted, the hallucinations and feeling of flight giving him the thrills he could no longer get from his music at the moment. Even though he returned home to heal, he continued to use the drug, hiding his addiction from his family and all but his closest friend, who quickly became Eduardo’s supplier.
Just as the doctor’s promised, Eduardo’s hand healed and his ability returned, once again giving him the outlet of music for his needs. Eduardo had believed that once he had music again, he would be able to leave the Belladonna behind, but that turned out not to be the case. The music eased the cravings, but could not rid him of them completely. As a consequence, Eduardo no longer ventures out and performs as often as he used to, giving only a handful of concerts a year.
Eduardo is a good, kind person for the most part, only given to fits of temper and violence when the cravings become too strong and force him to once again indulge in his secret addiction. Even while fostering his music talents, his parents did not let the other aspects of Eduardo’s education slide. As a result, Eduardo fluently speaks the languages of Terre d’Ange, Alba, Eire, Caerdicca Unitas, and Carthage. He is quick to smile and laugh, having an easy nature for the most part and his many years of performing have made him comfortable in crowds of any size. Only those who have known him the longest, his family, see the shadow he carries and yet they all attribute it to lingering trauma from the accident all those years ago, none of them knowing his deepest secret.
