I had at last procured a regular lodging in the city. It was simple and among the working class and that would no doubt set tongues to wagging but so be it. I had always been a simple man and I had no intention of changing anytime soon. The prattling gossips could go turn themselves for all I cared. I had also secured the services of one lady to tend the cleaning as well as the cooking. I needed no other servants as I was self sufficient and mayhap the City might offer me some respite from the hordes wishing to wait on me back home.
The place was simple and single level and had a stable in the back as well as a small garden. I would tend the stable myself as I was never opposed to mucking out stalls myself. Besides with just my own horse in residence at present the task was not insurmountable. There was no gate or wall and I settled in quietly hoping to remain as anonymous as was possible.
