"If you have even a portion of your forefathers bearing I am sure he needed no such help as d'Angeline artistic tricks," I said with a slight smile and a nod of respect. "Though I must say I agree about your saying that leaders should have such an air. If they didn't, we may not recognize them for what they were, and they may not even see such ability in themselves."

Looking back up at the face of Azza, I wondered if any of it was truly artisan's tricks or was this really the face of an angel?
"Chadovich was given purpose by our gods and the knowledge with which to achieve that purpose. I am the displaced second in line of a far away land sent to do his father's bidding. My bearing is nothing of consequence," I said somewhat wryly, still looking up at Azza.

"I am the daughter of the daughter of the daughter in a line that has been serving the House Dahlia since their inception except for the time before I was taken in when my mother was cast out in disgrace," I replied steadily, reaching out a hand to touch the base of Azza's robes. "In our land, family blood runs strong, I should think it would be the same with you. First or last born, it is the same blood."

"It is the same blood, but a very different life," I told her.
Finally I looked down and at her.
"Thank you again for showing me this," I said, smiling.

"You are most welcome, my lord- it has been an honor and a pleasure to be able to show it to you, even if I think I did run your companion off with my boring ways." Smiling slightly I stepped back from the statue. "If so I do apologize."

"She had said she could only stay for a while longer, I am sure that is why she left," I told her.
I looked at the statue one last time.
"On mentioning such things, I should probably return to the palace soon. Were you headed somewhere? Can I escort you?" I asked.

Turning, I looked at him and smiled slightly as I shook my head. "Thank you for the offer. my lord, it's most gracious of you, but I am more of a wanderer at heart and go where my feet take me. It has been wonderful having the opportunity to speak with you."

"Happy and safe wandering then, Allisande. It was pleasure meeting with you. Should I seek out more of the sights in the City I may impose upon you to show me around," I said, bowing. "Until then."

Smiling, I turned and began my way back to the palace. There was certain to be some pressing correspondence from my father that I needed to see to. They were coming every other day it seemed. He was getting impatient for news of how my courtship of Sabrina was proceeding. If he only knew…
Laughing to myself, I lengthened my strides.
