I had finished with my gown for the Hunt's Fete and was feeling restless. It struck me that I hadn't taken a walk through the city in some time and the fancy seemed to suit.
So telling my driver to stay put and that I would be back in a hour's time, I began to walk the streets breathing in the fresh air.

It was still early in the day as I finished my morning training. I'd elected to do an extended time outside the townhouse in the palace gardens, given that there was more room.
Exiting the gates, the guards gave me some funny looks, but didn't say anything as I walked back. Passing a nearby fountain, I started at it a moment, like a child in amazement. And like a child, I looked around dumbfounded first before dunking my head into the cool bath to refresh myself after the workout.

I was walking by a fountain when I noticed a man dipping his head into the waters.
"You know they have private rooms for that." I said raising a brow at his actions.

Caught. Just my luck. I blew out a spat of water in a spray. "Sorry, but it was there, and I was there, and I thought, 'why not'. " I shrugged. "There isn't a public ordinance out against using fountains for something other than eye candy, is there?"

I narrowed my eyes slightly at him. "I don't know," I said crossing my arms. "I'm sure my cousin the Queen would know, we could always consult her." He was a cocky fellow for sure, I was curious how much he was willing to push it.

I blinked a second, thinking I still had water in my ears. "I'm sorry, could you repeat that first part again, I could have sworn I heard you say your related to the queen?" I tried to make it sound humorous, but I felt a shiver up my spine. My only hope was that it was a water trickle.

I had to bite the inside of my cheek to not chuckle, cocky but handsome. A scandal. "Princess Phreya de la Courcel de Montreve, and you are?"

I coughed. You know, that cough to hide the fact that you were caught completely off guard by something. "T-Tabien de Valclesa, your highness." I kept my voice low, and did my best to salvage any dignity I had left. Not what I had in mind for my first meeting with royalty, dressed in little more than a cotton shirt and breeches, and dripping with fountain water.

The name sounded familiar and I reserved it, locking it away so that I could research it later. He hadn't used a title so my guess was that he was a simple boy lordling, though he didn't look that much younger then I.
"Well don't let me stop your bath my lord de Valclessa." I said opening my hand in gesture to the fountain, my tone mocking but still light and an undertone of humour.

I flushed a dark red. "It wasn't a bath my la....highness." I was definitely not used to that title, and I found it very hard to act formal, especially since I think she was mocking me. "I was merely cooling off after some training is all, I swear."

I raised one brow looking over him with an appraising eye. "Do you not have a home where you can do such a thing?" I asked curiously, my tone less mocking this time.

"I do, but it just isn't the same." I took a quick glance back down the road in the direction of the palace. "The garden's are more spacious, and allow me to at least pretend that I'm not surrounded by stone and mortar, and help me focus for the time being. Surely, that is there purpose, isn't it?" I responded in the same curious tone.

I gave him an inquiring eye leaning back on my heal slightly, my left leg stretched out as I tapped my toe slightly. "Must you be so vulgar after your...work out?" I asked eyeing his form.

I flushed slightly at her comment. "I'm, I'm sorry your hignness," I started, then I cocked my head.
"but I'm not quite following." I guess I shouldn't be surprised, I never had any social tact, and apparently this one had it in spades.
I wonder though, had I been too hasty to assume that she was who she said she was?

"I'm curious lord de Valclessa, do you do this often? I mean is it common for you to run around my cousin's palace estate then come and wash yourself in the fountain?" I stepped forward toward him closing the distance between us a bit.
"And I wonder, my lord, if you believe its perfectly acceptable to wash yourself in public."

"Well, besides the fact this was the first time I'd used the fountain, I wouldn't say I was washing myself, merely cooling off."
"Although, back in Ch'n, now that I think about it, It was somewhat common to use the public well on occassion, at least during the summer days when the hot springs were mild." I started.

I chuckled taking another step toward him. "Well then, I'm glad we live in Terre d'Ange." I looked around mockingly. "We are in Terre d'Ange aren't we, I mean I'm not hallucinating my home country."

"Yes, I'm pretty sure your right." I was getting confused. She sounded condescending, but her body language betrayed nothing of the sort.
"But if we are, I still fail to see any wrong doings in my actions?"

I sighed becoming quite annoyed. "I'm sure you wouldn't, you deem is fair acceptable to treat a lovely fountain as though some where to wash off your sweat."

I stopped, and looked at the fountain. It was rather pretty.
"Ok, perhaps you may be right. However, would have have return to my home on foot with no such reprieve after such an energetic morning, surely you have some compassion for my situation."
This seemed to sound rather rediculous, and I tried not to laugh, lest I offend her more.

Sometimes I wish I'd kept better track of lineages, specifically for times like these.
"Ok, the queen's cousin, and the Comtesse of Montreve." I stated allowed. "How did I miss the fact that royalty was so close to my home in Siovale. Pheyra you said?" I realized that between the angle of the sun, I couldn't make her out very well.

"Princess Phreya," I said stepping forward and crossing my arms once more. "And I'm not sure how you missed it. My family isn't exactly the most hidden. My father's the child of two traitors, and the woman who raised him the greatest heroine of our time." I continued to step forward so that I was a mere foot away. "I can't help it if you're incompetent." I said with a wry smile.

"Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm aware of the history, and of all those involved." Honestly, I thought, how could I not. "It's that I'm not to familiar with the current residence of royalty. You see, since the age of 10, I've not really lived in my native land that is Terre de' Ange. You could just say I'm a little out of the loop, and trying to get reaclimated. But I do thank you for setting the record straight." I said with a smile.
I could see her face a bit more clearly. There was no denying her lineage, it was etched onto her face; dark, mysterious, and beautiful.

There was a small crook of a smile on my lips as I tried hard not to enjoy his own smile. "Then whats the problem." I asked curiously.

Problem. Was there a problem? I knew, it was that calculating glint in her eyes. She was putting on a face, but what was she hiding.
"I'm not completely sure, but if I were to guess, I'd think you don't believe me." I clasped my hands behind my back, trying not to appear threatning.

"I was just saying I wasn't aware of who held title in Montreve is all, at least now. I'd spent my younger days learning alot of things, but the peerage wasn't one I found interesting, I'll admit." Prempting a follow-up question, "As for your immediate family, I really couldn't not learn that bit."
I wonder if she noticed.
