I was seeking out some entertainment while contemplateing which Night Court house I would venture into first. But for now I was collecting my barings and hoping to find some interesting people to speak to.
I stopped apon the street and looked into a store window at a man's outfit more suiting to D'Angeline society.

It was shortly after the L'Envers wedding, and I had noticed that with the help of those herbs, I was able to behave about properly in society, and so after the prerequisite inhalation, I set about town, in need of some air. I had, really, stayed in for far too long.
I didn't have all day - after a few hours, the effect wore off, and then home it would be, to ensure nothing happened. To-Biko was at my side, as usual, and we were bantering lightly, in a jumble of Caerdicci, D'Angeline and Jebean, musing on a place to go for drinks.
Up ahead, a gentleman was looking into a store, and I noted his features to be somewhat akin to that of my father's kin, merely an absent-minded observation.

I glanced about for a moment feeling a pair of eyes on me, finding the gaze I smiled politely then looked back to the window.

Eyes met, and I smiled in return, inclining my head politely. There were still a few steps to be taken, and seeing as the sidewalk was somewhat narrow, To-Biko moved to my back, though I could hardly resist greeting one whom visibly could be of my kin.
"Ciao," I uttered only as we passed, merely a polite greeting.

I turned, hands clasped behind my back and smiled. "Good day," I replied in my native Caerdicci and looked at the man that addressed me.

How very military his posture was. I grinned, somewhat amused, even as flashes of Stephano Calderon and his own erect demeanor raced in my mind.
"Good day," I replied in my Father's tongue. "Seeking out D'Angeline wear, are we?" I added, almost teasing.
I was strangely giddy - I hadn't met a fellow Caerdicci since Joras Timbule, or spoken my own tongue, save to Cascata and To-Biko.

"Its only appropriate I think." I said in Caerdicci with a smile. Completely facing him I gave a bow to him, my hand crossing my chest as I did. "Conte Milo de Vitorrio." I said once I had righted myself.

I returned the bow, and gave my name in turn, "Duca Gillermo Stregazza. A pleasure, Conte."
I pondered a moment, and said, "It is, though for official functions, it isn't inappropriate to wear our own style." I grinned. "Am I wrong to presume you are new to town, then?"

I nodded to him acknowledging his title. "I didn't think it inappropriate," I said with a soft smile. "And I am new to the City. I'm here to reclaim my D'Angeline heritage and wish to come closer to it." I explained.

I nodded, smiling. "I can understand that very well," I said with a knowing grin. "I had the same impulse, a while back, and was incredibly grateful when I was sent here again. Is it your first time in the City?"
Oh, it was so very coincidental, that we did have this in common. I was always grateful, that even in La Serenissima, we had maintained the duality of our heritage, though I had still been overly mind-boggled the first time.

"No, not technically." I said smiling. "I've been a few times as a child but nothing I remember well." I looked back to the window then back to Gillermo. "My family has been very Caerdicci minded all my life."

My face was sober as he told me his story, or at least, the very gist of it, from what it seemed. "I understand. My mother has a lot of pride in her heritage, she never let us forget our D'Angeline blood," I said reflectively.
And it occurred to me, we were comparing notes and life stories in the middle of the street, and I couldn't help but deem it an improper forum. To-Biko, true to his habits, had faded in the background, not really wary of the new arrival, but discreet, as always. For now, it was best this way - such a perfect companion.
"But maybe we should move this conversation to a table, and share some of their lovely wine, Conte? What say you?" I offered friendlily.

I smiled. "I'd very much enjoy a drink with you my lord, but I'm afraid today is not the best day for me on that particular venture." I said sadly and bowing slightly. "Forgive me." I said softly. "If you'd like to continued this conversation some other time I'd be grateful though."

"But of course, My Lord," I replied amicably. I produced from my doublet a calling card, and handed it to him. "Do not hesitate, really," I said with a pleasant smile.
I inclined my head, and said, "Until then?"

I took the card and smiled. "Yes, thank you." I said bowing once more. "You shall hear from me soon." I said smiling.

"Wonderful, have a good day in the meantime," I replied politely.
And with one last bow, I smiled, and passed my way.
As the sidewalk was ours once more, To-Biko came to my left, and said, "Well wasn't that a coincidence?"
"Oh, you'd be surprised, Lady Fate can be whimsical. Think he'll call?" I asked amusedly.
"Dunno, Gil," he replied, "But he might. Whimsy, remember?"
"Indeed. I need to get off those herbs," I grumbled as I pulled open the door to the pub.
