“Thank you,” I said, smiling. “I like you too Aurianne.” To keep from blurting out something awkward again, I focused on my soup and finishing it.

I watched him for a moment as his attention went to his food, then dropped my gaze to my tea as I took a drink. After, I set it down and began to eat as well, very much enjoying the dumplings and how they filled my stomach.

My soup vanished under my attention and I set the spoon aside before taking a drink of my ale. My mind cast around for a new topic of conversation.
“Are you going to the Beltane celebrations?”

I wiped my mouth before answering, half wishing I'd gotten something a little less messy. I didn't think Teo minded at all - he seemed very laid back and open - but it was a personal preference. Soup made it hard to stay clean at times, not without paying constant attention.
"I am, actually," I said, smiling at him. "Are you planning on going as well?"

“Yes, I was thinking I would,” I answered, nodding slightly. “It sounds as if it will quite enjoyable.”

"Very unique," I agreed, smiling, finishing my tea. I was quite done with my meal and I sat back content and happy. "I hope it'll be as lovely as all the others have been."

“I’ve never actually been to any of the fetes at the Palace,” I told her. “I hear they are spectacular though.”

"I've been to a few since my debut," I smiled to him. "They're lovely and grand." I blushed a little, my voice taking on a tone of admission. "I think my favorite part is dancing though... I love turning around the floor."

“Dancing is nice,” I agreed, smiling. “Though I’m not the most skilled at it, I do enjoy it. I mange to not step on toes, but I don’t lack the grace that so many seem born with.” I was positive Aurianne simply glided across a dance floor like morning sun across the still waters of a pond.

I wondered what it would be like to dance with Teo, held in his arms and moving about the floor effortlessly. I didn't doubt he was far better than he admitted to, or even thought. "Maybe we'll get the chance to do it together some day," I offered, smiling at him.

“I would like that,” I replied, returning her smile. I held her gaze for a moment, thoughts of holding her against me as we danced playing through my mind, then I looked away.
“I wish I had more time to stay,” I said softly, knowing and regretting the fact that I had to go, in fact I was likely going to be late as it was.

Thoughts of dancing with him fled my mind as reality came back, and I smiled a little more, straightening my posture and setting my napkin on the table. "I understand. I hope we cross paths again, Teo. Mayhap in the gardens of the Palace," I offered, hoping he wasn't thinking I meant just as a patron, though I definitely wouldn't balk at that.

“I look forward to any chance to see you again,” I said, smiling. “I really do apologize for having to go so soon.”

"Oh, no, I understand, truly," I responded, smiling warmly at him. I stood, hoping to make his departure easier by helping break it in with small movements. "Until we meet again, then, Teo. I've had a wonderful afternoon."

“As did I,” I said, smiling as I stood and gathered my book. “It was very nice to meet you Aurianne.”

"You too, Teo," I responded with a slight curtsy, done more out of habit than anything else. I'd truly had a wonderful time, and was very glad I'd decided to extend my book collection this morning.

“I look forward to seeing you again, either at Beltane or when I bring you my book to read,” I said still smiling. “Until then.”

My smile grew, and I sincerely hoped he wouldn't forget to bring the book just so I could have the excuse to see him again.
"Until then," I echoed softly, my gaze warm until I looked at him. "I look forward to it."

Smiling, I bowed slightly again and then turned and left the tavern to head to my appointment, my book gripped securely in my hand.

I watched him go before sitting back down again, letting a little time pass before I followed him out the door. For a long moment I just thought about Teo and how wonderful he'd been.
Finally, I picked up my book and left, my feet taking me back to Camellia.
