I offered the other rope to Lessandrie. "My lady?"

Smiling I watched the pair interact, looking for some marbles or animals for Laurel, then turned and shook my head. "No thank you- with this bulky gown I'd only trip."

I smiled and shrugged placing the rope behind my back and creating the swinging motion I began to skip.

I gave her a soft smile. "Maybe some other time, then."
Taking the ends of the two remaining ropes, I began to skip in rhythm with the Duc. "Excellent, my lord," I said, with a soft, lyrical laugh.

I chuckled as I skipped but ended up catching my feet and the rope stopped short falling to the ground.
"Its trickier then you would think."

I chuckled as the Duc tripped. It was as though he had a little boy in him struggling to escape the adult exterior. "You get used to it," I said. "I haven't skipped myself in years. I suppose it isn't something one ever really forgets how to do."

I smiled warmly to Maeve and nodded handing back the rope.
"Perhaps I should skip rope instead of my daily exercises."

"Perhaps you should," I said, grinning as I took the rope. "Hopscotch and stick and hoop may also find their way into your exercise as well."

I chuckled again. "Perhaps, though I doubt it will happen." I wasn't much of a kid at heart, I had been so young when my parents died that I never really considered my youth all that youthful.

Folding the ropes over my arm, I commented, "All right then."
"Where to next?" I asked them.

I looked to Lessandrie and smiled.
"Not sure, how about lunch?"

"That sounds nice," I said, having amused myself with watching them disport themselves in the middle of the marketplace. I'd gone on such trips and had my own such fun on outings with my father and I may have joined them except for the corset and gown that bound me. "But where?"

I shook my head.
"I don't know anywhere." I replied looking to Maeve.

"There is Desir," I suggested, "but it can be a little expensive. For good, hearty fare, the White Hart and the Cockerel are good. They are public houses, but not so unsavory that lunch won't be enjoyable."

"Desir is lovely," I said, thinking about my own instances there and hiding a flush and wondered how Simon was doing. "But the other two places you listed are new to me and could be interesting as well."

"I wouldn't mind Desir," I said smiling and looking back at Maeve. "What do you think?"

I frowned, thinking about my near to empty coffer. "I am sorry," I said, "I am not sure I can afford it. It has been a while since my last patron."
Not wanting to detract from their luncheon, I added, "If you still wish to dine at Desir, feel free to come by Heliotrope some time, it would be lovely to see you both again."

I forgot about Maeve and the fact she was an adept.
"Consider it on me." I said smiling, I could afford it and it was nice to have the company.

"It's my pleasure." I said clasping my hand together. "Well then, shall we?"

"Yes," I said, "Let's go."
Lessandrie looked terribly shy, and I wanted to make her feel more welcome and at ease. I offered her my hand as a simple, almost childlike gesture of friendlyness. But after all, she was young, younger than I. "My lady?"

It was my nature to be reserved and soft-spoken, but I had been raised around people and was pretty comfortable around them. I watched the exchange between Brys and Maeve in silence, then smiled at the pair. "Shall we?"

Gratefully I nodded. "Desir is this way." I pointed down the road.
