Taking a leasurely strole through the Temple District, I found I had missed the sounds and noise and the upbeat atmosphere and as I hadn't been there as often as I used to I found again what a pleasure it was to just wander amidst the crowds.
Curious shop keepers and wanderers, peers and adepts and everything in between. The whole picture just gave me a feeling of home.

I didn't have an assignation today, which meant that I could use the free time to visit the Temple District. It had been a while since I'd made an offering to Naamah--outside of those prayers I said on my own.
I stood there in the crowd, contemplating whether I should visit the Sanctuary of Elua as well, and whether I could afford offerings for all the Sanctuaries. It was true that I connected with Naamah moreso than the other Companions, but wasn't Blessed Elua over them all?
I sat on a bench and pursed my lips, observing the doves that waited to be offered to Naamah in her Sanctuary. The ritual was familiar to me, and I couldn't help but smile fondly as I watched people enter the Sanctuary, then emerge looking like new.
I crossed my legs and began to hum, a simple melody with no lyrics. "It is such a lovely day," I remarked, inhaling the sweet air, I could smell the incense from the Sanctuaries, a welcome change from Gentian House. "I could stay here all day."

I wound my way through the crowd making my way to the steps of the temples nearest me, Namaah and Elua's Statues gracing the entryway of each of their respected temples. Ah such a sight, the lovely Namaah, as beautiful as ever. And Elua as handsome and modest as Namaah was sensual and divine.
I had come, not really to pay my respects but to admire the surroundings of the temple district and as I made my way nearer I wondered what it had been like for them in the old days. Just then I heard a lilting melody drift towards me on the breeze, a hum, soft and pleasant and made to look for it's source.
I found who it was rather easily, sitting on a bench almost in front of me, sitting there happily enjoying herself.
"Lovely day indeed," I remarked, having heard her musings.

I nodded. "Somehow, the day always seems lovelier to me whenever I visit this place." I inclined my head towards Naamah's Temple. "I don't think I've ever seen anyone leave there with a heavy heart," I grinned. "It's hard not to, when faced with Naamah's smile."

I smiled, "That's quite true, isn't it. Hmm, I hadn't thought of that before actually, but it only makes sense that Namaah would that effect on everyone." I commented, "How are you enjoying the day?" I asked, taking a seat next to her, figuring she was an adept from her demeanor. Perhaps of Jasmine House for her dark looks, or maybe Eglantine for she seemed quite entranced with the way people looked.

"Well, the day is still young, but, so far, I have been enjoying it very much." I answered. "It is so nice to be outside on such a glorious day." Now that the height difference between us was lessened, I took the opportunity to study her features, certain that she must be a fellow adept. "I don't believe we've met before," I began. "My name is Catherine, of Gentian House."

Pleased I grinned, I hadn't guessed her house, but she was an adept. "I'm pretty sure we haven't met, but I'm Genevie, of Orchis, it's very nice to meet you Catherine." I said, the warm sun on my shoulders relaxing. "What brings you out today? A little sunshine and a change of pace, or do you have plans of meeting someone?" I asked.

"More for the sunshine and a change of pace," I answered. "I was thinking of making an offering at some point." Now, if only I could make a decision as to which temple to visit first. "What about yourself? It's hard to imagine someone like you being bereft of company." I flushed. Did I really just say that out loud? Well, I couldn't remember the last time I saw an adept of Orchis by themselves. They had a way of drawing people to them, I found.

I chuckled goodnaturedly, "I was hoping to visit the temples myself actually, I miss the atmosphere around here," I said, "I love the sounds here, the busy throngs of people and the fact that no matter where I go I am welcome." I told her, looking around at the crowds momentarily before adding, "I wasn't exactly looking for company but I don't mind that I came across you." I added with a grin as I looked back at her, and when I did something in her eyes made me think she could use the company.

Her grin was infectious. "I appreciate the company. Especially since I can't decide which temple to visit..." I still wasn't sure if I had enough money for so many offerings. "Hm, maybe it's better to just stay out here for now, I'm sure if Blessed Elua or one of the Companions wants me to make an offering, they will say so. In the meantime, would you care to walk around a bit? It is such a nice day for a walk. But I don't mind if you would prefer to sit."
