I went to where the carriage would be waiting and saw Prince Alexei.
"Very nice." I said smiling as I saw the broaches he had added. "House Crest?" I asked inspecting them closer.

I smiled watching the Princess Regent approach.
"Thank you," I said, inclining my head. "Yes, it is the crest of the Romanov line, it dates back before there was a Ruskovia in which to fly it over."
I looked at her, trying not to stare.
"Forgive me if I am being too forward, but you look beautiful. My mother and sisters take hours to dress for something, I had no idea a woman could look so breath taking in a matter of minutes."

I blinked and then looked down, my cheeks feeling flushed with heat. "Thank you lord Prince." I said shyly.
"Shall we?" I said gesturing to the carriage.

I smiled, and held hand out to assist her into the carriage.
I truly hoped I had not gone too far, I did not want to make her uncomfortable. It was true though, I was used to having to wait hours for the female members of my family to prepare.

Taking his hand I stepped into the luxurious carriage line with Courcel blue and the Courcel crest blazen everywhere. Bosterious, yes but often necessary. I settled myself into my seat and waited for Alexei.

I climbed into the carriage and settled across from her. I looked around, noticing her House crest in every detail of the carriage.
"It appears birds were popular with both our ancestors," I said, smiling.
I thought it best not to mention just how many swans were served at feasts in Ruskovia. It is never diplomatic to mention you have consumed the sigil of another House.

I chuckled. "So it would seem." I said pleased and polite.
"Have you had much D'Angeline cusine?"

"None at all," I said, shaking my head slightly. "Even on the journey in we ate from our stored rations. This will be a completely new experience for me."
I smiled, trying not to stare at her by taking glances out the window.

I couldn't help but notice him staring and I touched my face softly to see if there was something there. "Good, I would hate for some third rate tavern food to have been your first experience with D'Angeline food." I said watching him as he glanced out the window.
"Its not a long trip, we should be there soon."

"From what I have heard, even the third rate taverns here serve exquisite faire," I told her, still smiling.
"Do you have the chance to get out and enjoy the restaurants often?" I asked, giving up on trying to be surreptitious and meeting her gaze.

I shook my head. "Unfortunately no," My hands fiddled with the hem of my cloak. "My recent duties have increased my...solitude." I said trying to not seem ungreatfull for my positon in life. "What is Ruskovia like compared to Terre d'Ange?" I asked interested. "I mean do you have taverns and resturants and what not?"

"I understand, it is hard to find time for oneself when your life belongs to your nation," I said. "As for Ruskovia… yes, we have many of the same things as here, but things are more… rough. Restaurants tend to be more like large halls where many many people gather at once."
"The food is… sustaining," I told her, with a chuckle. "We are not so much interested in flavor as in the energy and warmth the food can provide. It is usually only on special occasions that the cooks put their talents to use."

I nodded, it sounded hard. I was about to say something but the carriage came to a stop.
"We're here." I said smiling.
