I rode through the heart of the City, it had been so long since I had been that I couldn't remember where I was. Things seemed to change, homes and buildings had sprung up from every where and I was truely lost. I dismounted hoping that I would be able to navigate better from a position I was more accustomed to.
"Lost?" A soft femine voice came from behind me, I spun fairly quickly to defend myself but when I faced the girl I stopped unable to speak.
"Uh..uh." I sputtered my mind seeming to blank. "No...well yes." The corner of my mouth tugged, a rare half smile to the beauty that stood before me.
"Where are you headed my lord?" She said, a smudge of dirt streaked across her left cheek, her hair fell in a wavey mess but her eye..Elua they beemed with something that I hadn't felt in a long time.
"Uh, well thats the thing. I'm not sure." I smiled my half smile again, my chest seemed to hurt.
"Perhaps I can help you?" She smiled with a girlish giggle.
"Are you looking for something?"
"Help," I said looking across the busy streets. "I need a maid servant...or two." I regained my composure holding the reins in my hand I stood straight clasping my hands behind my back.
"What's the pay?" She asked still girlishly.
"Well its full time, board is included including 50 ducats a month. Work includes house work as per usual, some stabling and cooking." It seemed fair though I was truely naive in the ways of barter.
"Make it 60 ducats and two days off a month and you have yourself a deal." She smiled up at me.
"Who, you?" I asked surprised. She couldn't be more then sixteen.
"You bet m'lord." She said making a curtsy though she wore breeches and looked an awful lot like a man.
"How old are you?" I asked still surprised.
"Nineteen." She said smiling still. "Is it a deal?" The girl was all business, I couldn't say no, and I couldn't figure out why.
"Alright, its a deal. Whats your name?"
"Kaillee no Aigre." She said hopping on the balls of her feet.
"Kaillee, I am Marquis Simon de Valais." I made a somewhat nervous bow, it was the first time I had offically introduced myself as such.
"Well Marquis, I'm your gal."
