Two weeks before the L’Envers Wedding
I'd elbowed a few patrons on my way out, but not enough to really be suspicious. If anything, they must have believed I was in a hurry, or impolite. They would have been correct, for when I killed, I usually was both.
When the door to Desir closed, I felt the fresh air on my face, and took a split second to recollect my thoughts. I’d left impulsively, acting on instinct, but I knew that to do the deed, I had to regain a semblance of normalcy.
When I kill, when I let my urges take me over, I do not do so idly or stupidly. I have skill. I paused, pretending to seek out a carriage, wondering what she would do, all intent ready, not to miss my target. I intended for this to long, for bother her and I. Long and exhilarating for me, long and dreadfully painful for her.
She stood outside of Desir and the woman with her (a relative, perhaps?) a warm embrace and a long kiss. A conversation ensued, where I thought I understood that they agreed to only visit each other once a month.
The other woman bade the white bitch farwell and left to go and find her carriage. She stood by the street, likely waiting for hers to show.
Oh bullocks. A carriage was pulling around the corner, and the expectant look on her face made it clear. It was hers.
Before it arrived at her level, I strode over, and feigning to not see her, toppled her over. Immediately, a mask of contrite emotion washed over my face, and I apologized. "I'm so sorry, My Lady, I am a d-d-d-olt."
I always did this, pretend to be an idiot, to lack confidence in front of prey. The look of dispairing surprise in their eyes was priceless.
"Please, allow me to offer you a drink, to c-c-c-ompensate for my imbecile ways," I offered.
Inwardly, I grinned for the appreciative look on her face as she straightened herself and brushed off her gown. She found me attractive, no doubt – that was a grand asset for what I had in mind.
She looked at me with obvious contempt. "A drink, what would be in it for me? Perhaps I require more than just a drink."
"W-W-W-ell, M'Lady," I told her, "Let me offer you the drink, and we can discuss what else you require," I told her sheepishly.
Oh, but she was taking the bait, how sublime. I grinned inwardly, though my mask of contriteness never left me. "Would the Wild Boar p-p-p-lease you, M'Lady?"
Her carriage stopped near her, but she ignored it. "The Wild Boar?" she asked, apparently wondering if she had ever been to the place, "what do they serve?"
"M-m-m-ead, and Eiran w-w-w-wine, M'Lady," I replied, secretly rejoicing in her piqued interest. Inwardly, I rubbed my hands together. She was mine to close in for the kill.
She scoffed, as if she was not that interested in my offer – what an arrogant witch. I was already enjoying all the pain I would inflict on her. She looked at her fingers as if her nails were more interesting and said, "I bet its cheep wine, nothing of worth." She then looked down, looking as though her impatience was growing.
"It will p-p-p-lease your palate, My Lady, take my word for it," I said softly. "Shall you have me b-b-beg, to make my am-m-mends?" Oh, she would take the bait, she had to. Wine, and some more wine, and I would have her twisted around my fingers, to do as I wished - whether she liked it or not.
Quite visibly, she almost laughed at my question. Instead, she asked, "if it turns out you have lied, and the wine is of no worth, than what will you do to make it up to me?"
"I w-w-w-will offer you to sample something else," I replied slyly, my eyes somewhat suggestive.
She nodded, "Alright, I will go with you. Show me where this tavern of yours is."
"M-m-many t-t-thanks," I replied, offering her my arm. The tavern wasn't so farm, and it was soon to be broached, with only a short walk. "And w-w-what might your name be?"
She took my arm, but lightly. "My name is Cilla," she told me, "and what might your name be?"
"Edouard," I replied, feigning to gain assurance. I pressed her lithe form to me just a little, and started heading us to the Board. "Ha-ave you hade a g-ood evening?" Slowly, I worked myself out of the stutter, that it may seem natural.
Easy, really - let them believe you are weak. It makes the surprise all the more sublime.
She didn't hold me off, but she didn't assist me either. "My evening has been usual, nothing interesting," she replied with a grin that had a touch of wickedness in it. "Maybe it will become more interesting."
"M-maybe," I replied softly, utter submission oozing out of me. Gods, if Ideaus were there, he would take me and punish me for being as caddish as this. But indeed, she had the scent of the predator about her - and so I used my natural tastes to entice her.
It was different though - I had every mind to have my game - and so I would, and she would feel the tastes she so enjoyed. That it be punishment for offending my beloved adept was no small advantage.
She moved me just a little closer, pulling on my arm instead of shifting her own weight. I plainly let her pull me, and gave her a sheepish smile. I liked this part where I made myself look like an idiot, because the look of surprise on their face was always priceless.
I looked at her, giving her a pleading look. Would you abuse me, please? It was a look I’d used before in true games of seduction. I knew it worked wonderfully.
She remained cold, but she squeezed my arm, visibly starting to care less if we were in public. "Show me where this bar of yours is so that I may drink, and then we will go somewhere and I will show you what love is truly about."
“Yes, My Lady,” I replied quietly, sheepishly.
Inwardly, I grinned. I was ready to take her at a place where pain would take on a new and final meaning for her, a place where darkness would no longer be the guise of night, but a darker, more fearsome place. The darkness of my mind was to beginning to fill with projects, toys, games and tenebrous perspectives. Oh, she would scream beautifully, and her body would be a wondrous and horrifying masterpiece when I would be done with her.
Slowly, I took her, and we found the entrance to the Black Boar.
