"I trust you implicitly," I replied with a warm sign of relief. "As long as it's not blue - I seem t only wear cold colors, and I'm thinking I need to renew myself."
Pfff. Ribbons. Urgh. Crazy woman.

I nodded, thinking on it, as I paused slightly in my step, looking up at him. "I don't want to dress you, Sieg, just so you know. I'd like to aid you... I don't mean to take over." I said it sincerely, hoping he wasn't thinking me overbearing or pushy. I looked at him with the same sincere look on my face, my lower lip caught between my teeth.

"I know, sweetie," I replied with a gentle smile. "You did paint quite a grim picture, though," I added with a chuckle, and admitted sincerely, "well, I guess it depends on the point of view."

My smile crept back as we walked at a decent pace again, assured that I wasn't being overbearing. "You mean you don't like peach lace?" I asked, my voice holding a tease.

"I'd like it on you," I replied teasingly. "Then again, you wore pink at the coronation, if I recall what you told me at the dinner party. If you can pull that off, you can make peach lace look worthy of Queen Sabrina herself.

I laughed, squeezing his arm in a friendly gesture. "Oh, but Sieg, I think you'd look rather dashing in peach. You would redefine its former wimpy color into something bold and brilliant."

"Look, if you ever get married, and I get to be your maid of honor, I'll wear peach without a flinch. Until then, no peach!" I replied, trying to look stern... but my shoulders were moving up uncontrollably at the budding laughter.

If I ever got married? Would I? Eventually, but.. Elua, I didn't know. I wanted to, one day, and bear children as my mother had.
Shaking myself out of my revelry, I smiled at his reaction. "See, but I'm not silly enough to choose peach for myself. Just for someone else." I glanced up, grinning blatantly at him.

"I guess you'll have to wait until your wedding, then," I replied with an amused grin. We'd been walking for a bit, and I added, lifting an inquisitive eyebrow, "I assume you know where we're going, right? Because I'm following you."

I looked up at him in askance as he spoke, then laughed. "I'm following you, Sieg. It's your back that needs clothed - I thought that mayhap you had an idea of where you wanted to go."
Chuckling, I pointed to a shoppe across the street. "How about there? I can look for a dress while you try on outfits if you'd like."

I laughed at the idea that we'd been following each other, our walk completely random. I eyed the shop she indicated, though, and with a light shrug that probably looked like an earthquake considering my shoulder width, I agreed. "Sounds good," I replied. I lifted a curious eyebrow, and added, "You're going to the Fete, then?"

I shook my head as we made our way across the street. "No, I doubt I will be in good honesty. I'd like something new to wear for the opening day of my parlor." I smiled as we reached the door. "Are you looking for a coat, or just a shirt and breeches set?"

"Oh, right, the parlor, your baby," I replied teasingly. "I honestly don't know. Something with class, I suppose."

I nodded and opened the door, stepping in and holding it for him until he had it. Looking around, I gained a feel to the place, locating the portion of dresses that I wanted to sift through, and a few stands that Sieg might find something.
"Come on," I replied, smiling brightly at him as I walked over to one of the racks, my fingers deftly picking out an olive green shirt. "Too mundane?" I asked, trying to get a feel.

I looked at the shirt, and said,"It's not bad. Why would it be too mundane?" I didn't want to admit it, but I'd stuck to blue because I had no sense of style. I wore things that I knew looked fine on me, and never strayed. In truth, I was clueless.

"The color; too drab?" I replaced it; 'not bad' wasn't exactly the type of response one wanted to elicit from someone who wanted to look nice. Especially for a lover. My thoughts flashed to Quinn, and idly I wondered what he were doing at that moment.
Checking a sigh before it could manifest, I pulled out another, this one a rich brown button-up. "This?" I asked, holding it out for his inspection.

My eyes flickered to the brown shirt, and again to the olive one. I had a preference for the "drab" shirt, it seemed. "I think I preferred the other one," I replied, before I sighed a little. "I'm hopeless, am I not?"

"No, you're not," I replied kindly, pausing in my shirt-flipping to smile at him. He cared so incredibly much for Ragean - it had been obvious from the moment he'd firs told me about her. "You're just thoughtful."
I put the brown shirt back and took the olive one up again, then stepped aside to let him in to look. "Just hand me whatever you like... I'll hold onto them for you til you're ready to try them on."

I looked at Joie and felt completely helpless. “So is this how you are helping me?” I simpered as I looked at the rack with evident fear. I’d promised myself to stray away from blue, and yet it was there tempting me with its cerulean security. I must have appeared about to hop in a pit full of hungry bears. Good gods, I could be inept at times.
“Alright,” I grumbled. “This,” I pulled out something brown that didn’t seem too dark, “that,” it was a shirt of a strange light beige, “or that,” something that was rather in the area of green. I gave her a pleading look. “What do you think?”

Oh gods, the poor thing. The look of utter despair was like crystal in his blue eyes, and it was all I could do not to touch his cheek reassuringly. "All good choices," I said as cheerily as I could, giving him a bright, reassuring smile. "The green especially... Have you thought of a light grey, mayhap? Sage?" I rummaged through a neighboring rack and held up one of each, shifting slightly so the shirts he chose out were looped over my forearm.

Sage. I didn’t even know the name of that color. Gods. I rolled my eyes inwardly at myself – oh, but I was so out of place. Serves me right for staying cooped up in a laboratory for so long.
“The sage looks nice,” I said at length, mostly because this way I wouldn’t forget the color. “What should I wear that with, though?” I looked at the breeches, wondering what in the world would match with sage.

I was caught between laughing and feeling bad; his face was a myriad of different expressions, enough so that it alone caused amusement. Not wanting to show humor, though, I smiled and shrugged lightly, offering a few suggestions while rummaging through shirts again. "A grey could go with them, or fairly any shade of brown that you'd like. Or even black for that matter."
Plucking out a few more shirts, one a burnt red and the other a grey-green, I held them up wordlessly for his inspection, happy to keep going through clothes until he found something he really liked.

“I’m sticking with the Sage,” I replied, smiling at her patience. “It’s growing on me,” I admitted. “Shall we look for some brown breeches?”
I smiled at her, and didn’t resist it. I planted a kiss on her cheek, and told her, “Joie, you’re saving me.”

Slightly surprised, and inwardly pleased at his decision, I smiled and placed the other shirts back, keeping the sage looped over my arm. It was long enough that I feared it might drag on the ground if I carried it by the hangers hook.
His kiss took me by complete shock, though I gave him a happy, comfortable smile as he straightened back up. "Don't think twice on it, Sieg." I grinned, heading over towards the pants. "I'll send you a bill by courier later."

I chuckled and shrugged, following her gaze towards the rack, and letting my eyes drown in an endless stream of visibly brown breeches. Gods, but they all looked the same to me.
“Be sure to do so,” I replied with just an edge of seriousness in my voice. “I’d hate to be remiss on my accounts.” I rolled my eyes, adding, “and gods, I hate to make sure I’m not.”
I gave a small sigh, and added, “You know that my assistant is more and more absent, and that she’s been making more and more mistakes?” I started feeling out the fabric, hoping touch would be more helpful than sight. One of them had a pleasant feel, and I asked, “What do you think of this one?”

I grimaced a little, remembering the run-in with the grouchy attendant who saw to Siegs front office. "That doesn't surprise me much," I commented idly as I began to browse through the pants, my fingers falling down the fabric til I came across a pair of light doeskin breeches. "How about these?"

“Oh?” I asked with a curious gaze as my hand touched the fabric of the suggested breeches. “Oooh… nice,” I said with a whistle of admiration. “Yes, Caine helped out last week and everyone was telling me what a sweet heart he is,” I replied. “Though it’s not something he could do all the time. It was a one time deal, and I don’t intend to alienate Donatien no Cereus.” I sighed. “I need to find someone new.”

"Caine?" I tilted my head a little as I pulled the pants from the rack, absent mindedly handing them to him. "Gods, that sounds s.. From the dinner party! Met at the tavern, of course." I smiled, then held up the shirt next to the pants. "What do you think?"

“That’s him,” I said as the garment plopped onto my arm unceremoniously. “Good man, really. I bumped into him at the patron.” I looked a the clothes… sage was interesting, the pants were interesting, I wasn’t sure about the combination, though. “I like them separately,” I observed. “Am I completely out on a limb, here?”

I laughed lightly, shaking my head. "Maybe we should get some help from one of the staff members here." I grinned at him, putting the pants back on the rack. Pants were easier to pick out than shirts, anyway. I looked over and waved my hand a little, catching the attention of a pretty woman who began to make her way over. "Caine was a nice fellow, I agree. How is he?"
