I sighed as the carriage rolled to a stop before the district of the clothiers, giving the merry little shop before me a long look. Nicole had offered to go to the market for me to find something for me to wear to the celebration, yet I didn't let her; it was not something I should pawn off onto someone else. With a word of thanks to my driver I stepped down onto the street and walked forward, heading into the shop by way of the copper handles.
Inside it was lit cheerfully, and I moved immediatly to a rack of pants hanging midway down the length of the store. Start in the middle and move my way outwards, I supposed, though I really had no idea what to pick out.

It occurred to me that I was in need of something to wear to the coronation. I had heard that the clothier’s district was the place to go for such events so I decided to get some exercise and walk there.
I found my way fairly easily, only asking for directions once. I looked down the long line of shops and went into the first one.
Inside it was quite empty. A few lingering shoppers and one man shifting through a rack of pants. I walked to a neighboring rack and started browsing myself.

The shop door opened and closed, though I paid little attention to it until a man approached a rack next to mine and browsed it. Glancing up, I gave him a nod of hello before flipping through again, trying to find some merriment in it and not simply boredom.
"Shopping for the fete?" I asked, glancing up again.

I looked up from my browsing when I heard someone speak.
"Yes, I figured I'd have to find something. My closet isn't that vast." I stopped, I'd been talking about myself too long. "I presume you are as well?"

I chuckled, sifting through the hanging garments once more. "Same here," I said, referring both to the fete question and the relative lack of clothing in my closet.

"Looking for anything in particular?" I asked, pulling a pair of black pants of the rack and examining them.

I grimaced, glancing back at him. "I have no idea, honestly. I'm not much of a shopper."

"Neither am I," I admitted. "Mostly I just throw something together and hope it looks alright."
I decided to possibly go with pants and turned around to a rack behind me to find a matching shirt and jacket.

"Same here," I said with a sigh, selecting out a charcoal pair of pants to examine. "Folly for me, but I turned down an offer to have the shopping completed for me. I should have taken them up on it."

Hmm, I thought as I looked at the shirts. I found a black silk shirt that would match pretty well.
I moved onto jackets and found a black one lined in gold. I held everything up together and thought it might go alright. If I looked like a fool it was my own fault and I would have to live with it since it was getting a little late and I still had some things to do.
Nodding towards Kendrick I said, "It was nice to meet you, maybe I'll see you at the fete."
