I laughed. “Then we have an understanding,” I replied with a smile, all thoughts of Walid wiped from my mind. Friends are wonderful things.

I laughed along with Mercedes, then turned my attention to Denis.
“How much farther, cousin?” I asked him.

"Duely noted lord de Trevalion." I said softly before he could reply to Leyna.
"Yes, how much further?"

I tipped my head to the Queen before calling over my shoulder.
"The next right Princess cousin," I said smiling. "Then we should be there."

“Thank you, cousin dear,” I replied, giving Denis a playful smile.

"You're welcome Highness." I teased back before guiding us to the right and down the street that was hopefully the right one.
I left the conversation ended with the Queen, having had laid the ground work to my future plans. I didn't need to press anything.

I thought about Denis' words and wondered if they had any merit. It was true that I had seen Coretta at the fete with the Prince, but had passed it off more or less. Now I had to put some stock in it at least. If it was true, I would find out. If it was false, well I would find that out too.
I walked with the group, smiling and nodding to those around us, people curtsying or bowing as we walked passed them.

We rounded the corner and I started to smile. Even from this distance I could pick out the storefronts crafted in the Aragonian fashion. I had no idea home could be so far and yet so near.

A noise of happy surprise escaped me as I looked around. “I had no idea this was here,” I exclaimed softly, smiling wide.

"Well, how interesting." I said glancing at the art work of the buildings. "I had no idea that this was here too."

“Tell me about home,” I said with a smile, glancing at Mercedes. “Nic wants to take me there on our honeymoon, what is it like?”

"It's beautiful," I said with a smile. "I'm sure he'll take you to Amilcar, it's not to be missed. There's been a wave of new projects being built in a new style of architecture. I love it, though many of my countrymen think it absurd."

“Truly?” I asked, curiosity peaked. “What is the new style of architecture?”

"It seems to be a revolt against straight lines," I replied with a smile. "It's difficult to describe, you'll have to see it."

I guided us to an area that I was told of. Once there, you could see stalls of market carts, perhaps a dozen or more, selling wares of all sorts. Some were obviously imported from Aragonia I was sure, some looked like they were hand crafted by Aragonian citizens.
"What will you be wearing for Beltane Your Majesty?" I asked trying to be polite and keep the conversation going.

“I can’t wait,” I said, smiling at Mercedes. “I love new architecture.”
My attention was caught by all the Aragonian items around us. “Oh look!” I exclaimed happily, breaking away from the group to investigate the items offered at the nearest stall. “It’s all so beautiful!”

I grinned at Leyna's obvious delight, pleased she found my country's style so agreeable. Feeling more myself after a little break from Denis's teasing, I stayed with him and the Queen, listening to their conversation if not saying anything quite yet.

"A gown I suppose." I teased Denis and smiled to Mercedes. "I have comissioned a gown of an orangey tinge. It's designed after a foreign style."

"That is an errand that I still must run," I admitted with a smile. "What sort of foreign style?"

I somewhat heard them discussing dresses for Beltane. I already had mine ordered and couldn’t wait for Nic to see me in it, and have him take me out of it.
Returning my attention to the items for offer, I was immediately drawn to a relief sculpture of an Aragonian military legion. There was another of a couple dancing and I eagerly claimed them both, so pleased I didn’t even haggle with the proprietor just paid and made arrangements for them to be delivered to the townhouse.
Thrilled and smiling I rejoined the group.
