Not contracted I had some time to myself and as was often the case I devoted it to amusement and pleasure so I made my way to the Generous Patron and snuck in the door with my usual rat like and sneaky manner that was not at all serious. With my small size and doe like eyes it was really hard for anyone to take me as a threat and most were amused. Besides that the Patron was great for a cheap drink and plate of food if one were an adept and wished to be away from the House.

I was sitting near the back of the Patron, idly creating a design by sewing it into a small linen cloth, something that I was thinking I'd show one of my noble patrons the next time I saw her. The door opened and I looked up out of habit, watching an unfamiliar face enter. He was small, but looked happy and cheerful, brining a smile to my own face that Devon recieves such patrons.
Setting the needle and cloth down, I rubbed my eyes to help alleviate the strain before looking back at the newcomer, my hands dropping to my lap.

A lass working at needle point caught my eye and I offered her a smile and a small bow before taking my place in a seat not far from her. I ordered the usual on the house meal and drink the Patron offers those in the service of Naamah and then tried to steal a look at what ever it was she was working on. It is after all not like me to be shy about much of anything.

I blushed a little when I caught him looking back at me, and again when I realized he was seated and trying to peek at what I was doing. Silently I held it up for him to see, my cheeks crimson and a small, tentative smile on my mouth. I didn't know what to say, but he seemed interested and jolly both, and I wasn't against conversation. It was just a little more difficult to me than the rest.

I leaned in to look better at her handy work as she held it up for me. Incidentally to try and peek down her top as well while looking at said needle work. One cannot blame a boy for trying now can they? I offered her my best prize winning smile and added “It is very pretty.”

He leaned closer, and it wasn't til he answered me that I realized he was also trying to look down at my chest. Blushing, I brought the design and pressed it against my breasts, though I immediately felt foolish for it. "Thank you," I said, wishing I could drain the color from my face. "I've not seen you here before - do you come to the Patron often?"

She caught me at it and tried to hide herself and recover while at the same time blushing, the whole thing was in fact entertaining in the extreme and I derived incredible pleasure from it “Ghislain nó Jasmine at your service m’lady and how I would enjoy to service with you.” I executed a small bow “And yes I come her on occasion as the establishment is very kind to those of us in the lady’s service.”

His name and casual reference to Naamah only served to make me blush more, and I ducked my head away from him while trying to recover. "You are well come then, Ghislain no Jasmine," I said, peeking up at him. "We must always have come here at differing times - I usually remember the faces of those who try to look down my dress."
A faint thread of tease wound through my voice, a slight jest in the face of my own blushing self.

I settled in beside her with my small lithe form and smiled "Oh, I did not try if I tried I would have succeeded" I teased back. I ordered my meal as well as a drink and then turned my attention back to her "Excuse me but I did not happen to catch your name." As usual I had a smile on my face and an easy manner about me. Most ladies tend to be more than a little at ease around me as my small stature does not seem to threaten.

I wrinkled my nose a little playfully at him as he sat down, and even though I didn't invite him, I wasn't at all perturbed by it. "Do you mean to tell me that you didn't try to look down my dress?" I asked curiously. As I did, I realized my design was still held to my chest and I blushed a little more, setting it on the table.
At his mention of name, I gasped, then giggled softly. "I'm sorry - I'm Myth Celebrante."

"Nice to meet you Myth" I gave her my best winning smile. "As for the other I suppose that is something you will just have to try and figure out on your own" I teased a bit and added a wink. "But I dare say you might be one of an appearance to make a man ponder attempting such a dastardly deed." I was simply keeping things light and jovial and hopping she appreciated that as I have never been one to brood or grouse.

He was so.. chipper, so light that it instantly drew a smile from me, and I felt myself relax a little more. "I should hope I would be," I teased back, giving him an amused look. "What brings you to the Patron tonight, Ghislain? A meal, or are you meeting people here?"

I smiled “Dinner away from my house and here is the best place to tend that matter. The Patron does treat those of us in the service of the lady quite well.” I inclined my head “What about you aside from the charming way you brighten he room?” I leaned in and gave in a conspirital whisper “And nope, I am all alone having escaped the keepers and with any luck it will be some time before I am discovered.”

I laughed, his breath tickling my ear as much as it stirred little butterflies in my stomach. "I come here sometimes and steal away in a corner to do small things. Like this," I said, indicating my sewing. "Devon has been a friend of mine for years now," I added, smiling at Ghislain.

I leaned back and nodded “I have been known to steal away in a few corners myself and do pleasurable things.” I then tilted my head “Though I have to confess to not knowing the proprietor of this fine establishment so you seem to have a leg up on me.”

I gasped softly, then laughed a little. How very brash. "Don't let Devon see you do that," I said, smiling coyly at him. "He won't stand for such things from adepts, unless you've made your marque?" My tone was questionable, and I really was curious as I looked over at him.

I laughed “Well not having my marquee I am well versed in staying one step ahead of prying eyes” I quipped back. “Or at the very least that is my story and I am sticking to it.” Having gotten my plate and drink I dug in with gusto despite my small stature. After a few bites I looked up and gave her a wink “You really should try being up to mischief at some point it is very liberating.”

I smiled in amusement, watching him as he dove into his plate. His comment brought a glimmer to my eye, a dim sort of twinkle that suggested I was trying to reign it in. "Who says I don't?" I asked, deliberately innocent.

I quirked a brow at that and swallowed before speaking “Well you were eluding that you did not, but ah well call me a dunce or at least a twit for making assumptions.” I was reasonably sure she was pulling my chain which was just fine. In fact it was more than fine as my exuberant manner for whatever reason tended to put others off. Indeed I felt rather alienated often times but I had a firm grip on just how fragile and fleeting life is.

I grinned at him, shrugging slightly in response. "I think twit works well," I teased, looking up at him from beneath the line of my dark lashes. "Forgive me if it's a little presumptious, but have you made your marque for very long, Ghislain?"

I shook my head smiling “Like I told you before I have not made my marquee. To be honest it has not been that long since my début.”

"Oh," I said softly, my cheeks reddening. "I meant your debut, I'm sorry. I'm not terribly familiar with the Night Court."
I busied myself with my tea, then, feeling like I was fumbling through the conversation. Wishing I could bury my blushing cheeks in my cup, I took a long drink, finding the hot liquid soothing.

Her blushing was starting to amuse me not to mention it was rather fetching on her. I simply reached out and barely brushed her cheek with my finger tips encouraging her to look at me “Then mayhap you should ask me some questions and help fill in the blanks you have. It really is no deep dark secret.”

"I.." I paused, not really sure what to say to that. The brush of his fingertips made me look at him, and I gave him as bold a smile as I could, though I admittedly was still feeling a bit shy. "How did you know that you wanted to serve Naamah?" I asked after a moment.

I leaned back taking my hand back to myself "There was not really a choice. My parents died of a fever and I nearly died as well. The end result was I was left in the care of the Night Court and here I still am." I smiled at that it was what I had become and I was determined to make of it what I could.

My face fell as he spoke, and by the end of his short tale I'd scooted closer. "Oh, Ghislain, I'm so sorry to hear that," I said softly. Reaching up, I took the hand he'd touched my face with, holding it gently with my own. "What would you be doing if you could choose anything, anything at all?"

I smiled and squeezed her fingers when she took my hand “What I am now, what has happened, happened as was the will of the gods. So I make the most of each day as you never know which one is going to be your last. Take what pleasures you can and hang the rest.” I punctuated my words with a wink.
