It was a late afternoon, and I remembered I had made arrangements that I had absently neglected for the time being. I closed my book, and took my parchment and quill to work. Shortly, I caught a courier, and had a quick letter sent off.
Dear Oddette,
If you are still interested in lessons, please respond to this letter. I will be at my house, address inclosed, two days hence. If you accept, please come with a full stomach, and a ready mind, and we will begin promptly. I await your response.

I had just settled in for a meal prepared by my own hands when the missive arrived. My meal, consisting of a sweetened bread and stew, could wait while I paid light coin to the courier for his troubles and studied the note. He had finally sent a summons for me.
Quickly I consumed my meal then sent a reply back to him by way of a courier that I knew in the area.
Monsieur de Valcleasa,
I gladly accept your tutelage. I promise to arrive with a sated stomach and a mind fully prepared for my lessons in two days hence.
