I smiled, looking out over the crowds as they began to quiet. "I'm glad you enjoyed it," I said, laying my hand softly on his knee.

I smiled back at her, her face coming into view as lanterns slowly began lighting up with the end of the play. Chuckling, I responded "My thoughts exactly. Now, I don't suppose you'd be willing to spare one more meal with me before I let you go, do you?"

I chuckled and nodded my head. "Are you a mind reader as well? I was just thinking how hungry I was getting. Would you like to eat here, or did you have something else in mind?

I looked around. "Somewhere else would be good, give us a chance to breathe some fresh air, and stretch our legs. Now, the more important question is which resturant can appease the two of us." I mused offering my arm to lead her out.

I stood and smoothed my skirts by force of habit, noting absently how our wine glasses were mostly full. Belatedly I pulled out a coin to pay for them before smiling at our passing server and taking Tabiens arm, straying close to his side as we walked. "You pick this time," I said, smiling at him as we made our way to the door. "I picked the last one."

"Your putting a lot of pressure on me, you know?" I commented humorously. "Forcing me to draw upon recent knowledge. We'll, let's see, I did see an interesting restaurant. What was it's name. Black Boar I think. It's supposed to have an Alban theme to it. Have you been there before? It would be appropriate before that fete then." I asked, a young adept opening the door and letting us out. My eyes flinched a moment as the sun washed over our faces. It was just beginning to turn an oranges haze.
"Wow, I didn't realize how long that play went. It's definitly dinner time."

I tried to remember if I had, but I couldn't put a place to the name. "Something tells me I have, but I cannot remember it," I said as we stepped outside. I breathed the air in as we walked, enjoying it, and keeping close to Tabiens side still.

"Well, then it's a small adventure. Half of it involving us finding out how to get there. Though, we have drivers, so it shouldn't be too hard, right?" I said, patting her hand on my arm.

"Right," I responded, smiling softly at him. I nodded to a waiting stableboy and he hopped off, gone to the back to fetch the carriage. "We've walked so much lately that I almost forgot we had a carriage," I said as I looked back at Tabien, chuckling a little.

"Now come on, I have a good excuse. Besides, it's good for you, and keeps you from feeling stuffy, and prideful." I looked at her quickly, and tried to correct myself, "Not that I mean in any way of course that you are those things, but just that.." I bit my tongue, and said nothing, afraid to make a fool of myself again.

I looked at him curiously, a grin creeping across my mouth as he caught his mistake and tried correcting it. "Oh, my lord Valclesa, are you trying to hint at something?"
My grin grew more as I looked at him, amusement shining in my eyes. I could hear my carriage roll up but I didn't bother looking, more interested with Tabiens reaction.

I tried to look away, and demure from my embarrassment. "Nope. Nothing at all." I turned my face to the carriage, but I could help look at her sidelong with a small playful smirk quivering on my lip for a moment. If I had to guess, I'd say she found the whole situation humorous.

I didn't respond but merely waited as the carriage rolled up. The footman hopped off immediately and opened the door, holding out his hand for me to ascend. Stepping up into the carriage, I waited for Tabien and the privacy of my coach.

Ladies first, I waited for her to enter and get settled. After she was, I let myself in, and sat next to her, much more willing to be close to her than to talk at her. There would be time for that when we ate. As the door closed, I took her loose hand in mind, and played with it idly as we waited for the movement.

I couldn't help it - I melted a little as he began playing with my hand, and I was struck again at the things he'd said to me, and how he seemed to like me. I liked him too, so I wasn't displeased at all. My other hand came over and I stroked it lightly across the back of his hand, my gaze catching his, a smile crossing my mouth as I watched the City lights flicker across his face.

She returned the favor, and we found ourselves amused by the simplest of touches. When she looked at me, I felt nothing but happiness and tenderness.
I leaned in without any hesitance, letting my lips meet hers and my free hand cupping her face gently. She felt so right, but it was too soon to be sure.

I made a soft sound of pleasure as he touched me in such a strangely intimate way, the simple brush of his fingers along my face bringing a shiver to my body. I didn't know what to think, not this soon, so I simply let myself enjoy him and all he offered, my lips not hesitating in kissing him back.

It wasn't overly long, and I let it ebb after a few moments of delight. It was dark in the carriage, but I still caught a shimmer in her eyes. Resting my head against hers, I just listened to her breath for a bit before leaning back, and resting my arm around her shoulders.
"Any thoughts?" I asked at length, opening up for any discussion.

It was warm and intimate, not laden in heavy breathing and passionate lust that generally accompanied carriage rides after dark. "Not a single one," I replied quietly, nestling unabashedly into his side.
"Except for one, mayhap. Have I sufficiently changed your view of royals and nobles?" I asked, smiling at him.

I laughed unbidden at her question, it catching me off guard. "I think you've done a commendable job. And I think it should remain that way as long as I meet more like you."
Inhaling a deep breath, I took note of her scent, dimly recognizing some of the wash she used this morning in my bath. I closed my eyes recounting those memories.

"There are no others like me," I said, giving a melodramatic sigh that was studded with hints of a grin. "It's exhausting for other nobles to live up to my par."
I did grin then, and half wished nobles were around me so I could poke my tease at them. It was all in good nature anyway, and anyone who knew me would know that without explanation. As he closed his eyes I smiled and rested my head on his shoulder, watching the lights of the City roll by slowly.

I stroked her hair as she rest on me, smiling complacently. "I can imagine, you certainly tire me out," I said with a quick wit. But, I asked something else, not giving her a chance to respond to that.
"Do you like your peers, seeing yourself different from them," I asked in quiet seriousness.

I thought about his question for a moment. "I don't really see myself different," I said slowly, turning a little so I could look at him. "Well, maybe some of them, but everyone has something good to them... it just depends on the specific person, and how much you have to look to find it."
I wasn't jesting, not then, and I hoped the placid seriousness of my voice helped portray it.

I thought for a moment, trying to get a comparison of that to myself perhaps. "I think I've always thought of myself as different from other people. Sometimes for the better, others for the worse. But I don't think I've seen myself as easily...." I searched for the words, "duplicated?" I said questioningly.

I smiled gently, tracing slow patterns across the fabric covering his knee. "I can't see someone else being like you, either. As a matter of fact, I've never met anyone like you."

I smiled greatly at that comment, hoping to Elua that the way she meant it was all for the better. "And that's a good thing, I assume." I said softly.

"I c..." I stopped myself. "I shouldn't." I said firmly, letting her dabble a bit more on my knee before taking her hand, and kissing it softly. "Look at me, your turning me into such sap, I'm not usually like this, you know." I said, idly realizing it was true. It was all rather strange.

I laughed at his unexpected comment, my hand warmed with the memory of his kiss. "I'm sorry. Lets start arguing so you can be surly again."

"I'm surly?" I said humorously shocked. "We'll that's a shame. I've tried to think I've been quite understanding and thoughtful."
Just then, I felt the carriage come to a halt. Outside was building, though I think one of the drivers might have gotten confused. It looked Aragonian, but it wasn't the one I remember.
"That's odd...Hmmm. Say Azabel, Do you mind a slight change in destination?"
