I'd been in the city for a little over a week, and I was quite pleased with my turn of events. To be honest, I wasn't sure if I would have liked it in the city, but my first few days proved most rewarding. The estate would always be there if I ever needed the retreat, whether I was its holder or not. But I'd been alone in the world for a time now, and was the best way to acclimate myself.
Given the modest down payment I'd been able to afford, my domicile could have been a lot worse. Establishing a new home came with a factor for my funds, who even did the courtesy of supplying the house with some necessities , so I was told. It'd take awhile, but I should be able to draw on a tithe from the estate in Siovale to cover the costs for rent. For the time being, I had till the end of summer next year to try out my new dwelling.
I rounded the street, and spied it from the distance. From the looks there were a few around, but it was the only one un-occupied. As far as I knew, it had been inhabited by an older noblewomen recently passed. I felt relieved that I wasn't displacing anyone.
Outside, the paint was a little dull, but still pleasant. There was little for a yard save an open space on either side of the walkway to the door, one populated by a working well, and perhaps a stabled shed in disrepair. I'd have to find a better residence for Furion for the time being.
Inside the two tiered house, it was deftly quiet. Dark wooded floors spanned the small foyer. A parlor or sitting room, kitchen, dining room, bath, and what I assume where a servants quarters on the ground floor. Upstairs were another two bedrooms, one with a very small terrace, and a study of sorts. All in all, everything I needed. It might even be to big.
There was no food however i the kitchen, the bedrooms contained little more then beds and linens, the study had nothing save desk, chair, and bookshelf, and the bath was a tiled room with a copper tub. I'd sent a letter to the estate, requesting a good many of my things. They wouldn't arrive for a few weeks still, but I'd put in word that I might need some help around the house, if anyone could be sparred.
This would take some work.
