I had never been to the Medecant's Cloak before. Biding my time between when I would see Coretta next and when I'd see Noelle next, I decided to enjoy my current freedom by having a drink.
After ordering a pitcher of ale I took my mug and pitcher to an empty table and sat down, watching the Tsingani as they brawled and battled.

This was my day off, and unwanting to stay home and knit (I didn’t even know how), I opted to go haunt Night’s doorstep. I was wearing my usual garb, and seeing as I was without a man-at-arms, I wore my sword. This was my comfort zone, even if it wasn't what was expected of me.
I entered the Tsingani bar. By then, they’d gotten used to seeing me around, and so I barely got any looks. Besides, they were too busy brawling. I looked around – perhaps I’d bump into someone I knew, though it didn’t seem like it for now. I’d be alone, it seemed, though one youth in a corner was... well, he was pretty-looking. Nevertheless, for now, I chose to stand at the bar, ordering myself a healthy mug of ale for starters.

I noticed a non-Tsingani girl enter the taven and raised a brow at her presence. Her flaming red hair was a big target and I noticed a sword at her side. Interesting. When she looked my way I raised my mug to her and took a sip wondering if she would come over.

He lifted his mug, I returned the courtesy, flashing him a wide smile. Drinking alone was alright, drinking in fun company was much better. I took a sip of ale and pondered. To plop on over, or play cat and mouse a little? For now, I opted for a compromise. I’d smiled, I’d said hello. Still, rather than turning my back on him, I leaned against the bar nonchalantly. Perhaps it was the breeches that drew the attention. Or the hair – that’s what my brothers told me.

She seemed to be playing coy, perhaps looking for a game. Sadly I wasn't the type to chase so I sat back in my chair and drank my ale keeping an eye on her but looking around at the other's as well.

He just looked. Huh. Maybe an interest that waned. I lost myself in the observation of the Tsingani, but a nagging feeling that I was observed stayed on me. I looked at the D’Angeline young man once more, catching a furtive glance. Interesting. Maybe he was shy, I decided.
There was little else for me to do, save drink alone, so I opted for my ordinary strategy, and strode confidently over this way, my mug in hand. “Hello, care for some company?” I asked with a little grin.

Ah, a little Tsingani tavern! Smoothing the skirt of my amber gown I went in with a smile, looking about curiously and affording innocently sly winks to those who deigned to notice me as though I were nothing more than a silly City girl looking for a drink, or perhaps sent on a fool's errand by some others of her age. I was neither, of that I was sure, and this place scared me not at all; the Tsingani were no Skaldi, that was certain.
My hair was bound to one side in a tail with my hair waving a bit over one shoulder as I peered about, delicately lifting my skirts over a puddle of mead and smoothly grabbing a glass of sherry from a tray as it passed as though I were in a Court hall. In one corner a handsome man was being spoken to by a red-haired girl- in pants? With a marque? For a moment I watched idly, wondering exactly what sort of image she thought she was making.

I leaned further back in my chair and put a boot on the edge to the table top. "Perhaps." I said looking up at taking her in. "Depends on who's wanting to sit." I chuckled looking to the door to see another girl enter. This one was dressed quite the opposit of the one in front of me.

I gave him a gauging look. Cocky, not shy. I shrugged, and looked at him curiously. “I’m Julie Deveroix.” His gaze was turned to the door, and I followed it. Cute girl, looking a bit on the precious side. I looked at him with a raised eyebrow. “Plenty of room to sit,” I said with a little shrug. I was quite unfazed, truth be.

The man's eyes found me, their gaze a bit appraising as I had expected- though the girl's reaction being the same was a bit surprising. Still, I don't think I fell into her tastes terribly much. The man I smiled to and dropped a small, polite curtsy that showed my breasts in a subtle fashion; the girl I simply nodded acknowledgment to and watched in return.
Still, his attention was now focused on the odd ginger near him and I took another drink as I continued to watch, then gestured a waitress over and had a bottle of the good brandy I was drinking sent to the lord's table.

I glanced away from Julie Deveroix to the girl who curtsied prettily to me, I kept my eye on the mystery woman and settled my chair onto the floor once again. My foot kicked out a chair on the other side of the table. "Knock yourself out." I said gesturing vaugely to the chair. The bar matron came up from the side and placed a full bottle of liquor on the table.
"This is from Madame." She said placing down a matching tumbler before gesturing to the young girl I was watching. I took up the bottle from the table and poured the brown liquid into the glass before me. I glanced to the lady across the way and raised my glass to her before taking down the liquor before I glanced to the red haired Julie.

Smiling softly and raising my own glass I took a drink, then began to gracefully make my way over as if I'd been visiting here most of my life. Of course, that wasn't the case, but I had enough dignity and propriety to pull it off, I was sure. After all, I'd never really owned any place of my own, but I certainly did make people believe the house i lived in was my own.

He hadn’t given his name in return, and threw me the chair like one throws a worthless dog a bone – if he thought dogs were worthless, which I did not. If I had no need for this man’s love, I had enough self respect not to outstay my welcome. I felt the compulsion to grip my sword's hilt as my hand flexed, and I thought better of it – I’d learned the effect of unleashing my anger, and chose to be the bigger person. I traced the scar in my left hand with my fingertips in a light curl. Remembrance.
Quietly, I observed the interplay – there was little in the diversity of the conclusions to draw. Perhaps they deserved each other, or perhaps he liked dolls. I didn’t care, in truth. Clearly referring to the other girl with a glance, I said without a hint of aggressiveness, “I think you’ve found well suited company. Congratulations.”
In truth, I didn’t care. I had better to do that hold the candle to two perfect strangers, but I didn’t mind observing for a while. The girl was coming over already, walking like she owned the place. Did she see how arrogant that was? This was the Tsingani's stronghold - and us D'Angelines were here as guests. I wondered for a split moment before I noticed a didikani lad grinning at me. I found him handsome.
I was about to sit in the bone-chair when he came to me, and said, “I think your horse has a problem, M’Lady. Please, come have a look.”
I lifted a brow at the man – in truth, he would probably not mind being rid of me, I decided. “If you will excuse me, My Lord,” I said with a curt bow. Not waiting for his answer, I followed the lad out, sparing the girl a nod similar to the one she’d given me. He probably didn’t give a damn anyway, and in truth, neither did I.
I cared more about my horse – I was willing to be she was fretting in impatience. She hadn’t spent time with the buckskin in a while.

There was an absent sort of knowledge when the red hed turned away. I sneared slightly at her when she spoke but payed it no more interest then when she had first appeared at my table.
Instead I watched the very prim girl who had bought me brandy and was coming my way.
"Hello my lady." I said once she reached my table. "Thank you for the drink." I added raising my glass to her once more.

The look the red-haired hoyden gave me would have been enough to make others concerned, but I wasn't- all of her anger came from the proof that acting as one should brought more attention from decent men then trying to be as one. With a further expression of arrogance I smiled, showing a bit of teeth at her back, then sneered and rolled my eyes. Harlot.
Once at the table I offered an appropriately respectful but quick curtsy before I rose and smiled. "Good day, my lord," I replied as I rose and raised my own glass that I'd managed to gracefully hold during my curtsy. "I'm terribly sorry, I seem to have scared away your guest- though, in all honesty, I could tell she probably deserved it." My expression took on a bit of understanding mirth. "How did her parents or friends let her out of the house dressed in such a fashion?" I gazed at him with a sort of pleased appraisal over my brandy.

I chuckled taking a quick drink of brandy and smiling.
"Not to worry my lady, I would have to agree with your observation." I chuckled again looking to where the girl had walked off to. "Would you care to sit lady fair?" I gestured to the chairs available.

"I would be honored, my lord," I told him as I smoothly moved to the chair he'd kicked earlier and sat down, smoothing my skirts under me so they wouldn't wrinkle. "And I am glad to find a kindred spirit in my views as I've so far expressed. Tell me, what did you do to earn her attention? It was a 'her', wasn't it, not a man with very pretty hair?" My voice had an innocent lilt, but my eyes glinted with how cutting my words were intending to be at our departed guest.

I chuckled at her mocking fashion, the red haired girl had only warrented enough of my attention because of her clothing. "What does a girl do in breeches anyway?" I asked in a jesting fashion taking another sip of brandy.
"I'm Denis de Trevalion." I offered finally.

"Likely acts as a hoyden or chase invisible marauders," I offered helpfully as I laughed as well. "And I should have probably offered a better curtsy on hearing your name, my lord. I'm Liselle d'Aiglemort-Montblanc."
He was handsome, surely, and had a strong name and piercing gaze- all of which were very nice indeed. Shifting forward slightly I whispered confidentially, "You won't make me get up and do a better show of respect, will you? This chair is quite comfortable." My voice was still filled with humor.

Slyly I slid my gaze down across my chest, then brought it back up to see if his gaze had followed mine as I raised my head. "I couldn't fault you for that, Lord Denis, considering I know I probably will deserve it," I replied in a soft, low tone before raising my glass to my lips again, then sipped and pulled it away to lick the last of the taste from my lower lip. "Will you tell me what brought you here this evening, or would that be prying rather than making pleasant conversation?"

"Just looking for some entertainment, perhaps some company for the day." I said with a relaxed shrug. "What about you?"

""The same, though coming here was a bit of a surprise to me," I told him honestly, cocking my head sideways as I set my glass aside and relaxed just enough to 'accidentally' brush his foot with my own. "I wanted a drink, and this was where i ended up. It's nice that I've found some company of quality, even if he only wishes my presence for the space of a drink." More deliberately I shrugged to match him as I winked, shifting my top down the slightest bit to expose the top of my breast 'unintentionally'. "But I do promise I can be interesting."

I chuckled, the barest hint of amusment at her game showing in my smile. Could she be any more obvious?
"Well I think I can be convienced of that." I said looking at her breast very openly. If she was going to offer, I would look. "For perhaps more then just the space of a drink."

Well, it may have been the most brazen and base of all possible offers, but it still fulfilled my goals quite nicely and I left my body as it was for a moment. "Has something fallen down over my gown, my lord?" I asked sweetly as I raised a hand to run over my sternum as though looking for something, then shifted my shoulders back into the gown. "How kind of my lord to notice." At that I gave him a playful wink and refilled his glass from the bottle I'd had sent over with a delicate, graceful hand. "What pastimes do you enjoy, Denis?"

The corner of my lips curled up into a devious smile and nodded my thanks as she refilled my glass. "Oh you know, this and that." I said absently continuing to look over her form without concern. Sipping my brandy I waved my hand in a casual gesture. "I do enjoy spending time with young ladies such as yourself."

"That's very good news for me," I admitted with a light laugh and easy smile with a hint of my own mischeviousness. "I must admit I enjoy spending time with young men such as yourself as well- perhaps young ladies, if the mood strikes, but today I find men more interesting."
