"I suspect I can handle and enjoy it" I scooted a bit closer and once more speared some of the cake and then stroked it through the cherry sauce. My gaze drifting to hers as I delicately sucked the mouthful from my fork at closer range than we had been seated moments before.

“My saviour.” I replied with a chuckle. I took one last bite then put my fork down, watching him polish the rest.

I finished up and then laid down m own fork and tilted my head "Need a refill on your drink or is there something else that strikes your fancy?"

Oh loaded questions. How useful they can be. "Nothing that's written on the menu. Another glass of wine might be called for."

I chuckled a bit at that and ordered us each another glass then played along to see what she might add since her mind had taken such an amusing bent. "Well seems I have the wine covered now so mayhap what might interest you that is not on the menu?"

"Oh, I can't just tell you." I replied with an amused grin. "That would take all the fun from the game. You have to guess."

I tapped my lips with my index finger and grinned a bit “I was never terribly good at dissemination or obscure. So I will hazard that mayhap you are interested in a dance. But please do not be overtly upset with me if I have missed the mark horribly.”

I thought we were dancing already.
"Not too far off." I replied with a secretive smile. "Do you like dancing Jareth?"

I replied honestly but with good humor “I am terrible at it. But it does offer a reason to hold a pretty lady.”

“If you like” I smiled back graciously “of course if you can think of more interesting excuses you might offer me I am always the gentleman and willing to entertain ideas and inclinations.”

"I wouldn't want to scare you off." I replied with a mischevious smile. "So let's dance."

I stood and offered her my hand “I am a brave soul so I doubt you could scare me.” It was there under our words in our manner and actions. I knew her lines tastes and I had never experimented with them though I was not opposed to her asserting her will to some extent if she was inclined to do so.

I took his hand and rose gracefully. "Then we are both brave souls, for if you speak true, I'm putting my toes at risk. Though I'm sure you underestimate your skill." As we spoke we moved to the dance floor, and I took the proper dance position and waited for him to take the lead.

I moved with her to the floor and smiled a little as I took up the position. I had of course been taught to dance as a noble but I also was totally honest I was terrible. All moves from me were mechanical and not the least bit flowing sort of like someone trying to ply the blade without feeling the blade. “Trust me Anacrasia you are in danger so feel free to knock me into line.” I felt well clumsy something I never felt with a sword in my hand.

"You offer such sweet things." I murmured, humour in my voice as we begun to dance. I could tell what his problem was after the first few steps. Only his natural grace saved him from falling flat on his face. "Close your eyes, I want you to try something."

I gave her a rather large eyes look when she told me to close my eyes but ah well I am brave. I closed my eyes and mildly asked "Is this the part where you shove me over something and watch me go sprawling cross the the room?

I chuckled. "No. I'd like to think I've risen above childish acts. Of course, then I do something completely immature..." I grinned. "But not right now. You obviously know the steps, they've been drilled into you until you were forced to learn them. So take your mind off that now. Pretend there is an opponent, two paces behind me. You're circling each other," I continued, my voice sinking to a bare murmur. My body, nerves ready to react, moved closer to his, my own style of self-preservation. The sooner I could feel a false step, the quicker I could get out of the way. "Feel like you're in a practice ring, weapon in hand. You know the footwork, now let the rest of your body follow."

"Childish can be so unencumbering on occasion though" was my response even as I took in her words. I kept my eyes closed and drew some cleansing breaths relaxing my muscles. As if I were engaging an opponent I let my muscles flow into fluidly loose and reactive state. My center of balance shifting over to the balls of my feet with my knees slightly bent. My head up and shoulders back and chest thrust out. It was a position that came natural and easy to me.
The fact I felt my body nestle much more securely to feminine curves was a nice bonus as well. I began to move as if I were circling feet never cross or tangling instead flowing cross one another with lithe grace so as not to trip an even that can be fatal. As Anacrasia had guessed I did move better and it felt better. The last adjustment I made was once more as if plying the blade I leaned my weight forward a bit pressing into her a bit more but not uncomfortably. The idea after all is to move up not stumble and fall back.

"It worked. Some days, I amaze even myself." I commented dryly. I couldn't help myself, it was the first thing that popped into my mind.

I batted my lashes. “Oh, you’re too kind.” I replied coyly. “Some days you just need a new set of eyes on the problem.”
We hadn’t distanced ourselves again, our bodies moulded together and moving much more seamlessly than before. I had a suspicion as to what his next test was going to be, for I could feel the first stirrings in my own blood. One more distraction to deal with if you weren’t the greatest dancer. “And really, some dances in life are so similar.” That I threw in just to tease.

I chuckled richly at that "Or close the eyes for that matter. I might have to remember that when dealing with some pupils of the blade who are thinking way too much." I grinned a bit "Though I really do not have to deal with those areas much. One of the advantages of being a long time bachelor that some even think is antisocial."
Her body felt wonderful against mine and I of course was noting her sensuality but it also let me move a bit simpler because weather she realized it or not I was taking the subtle hints of her movements against me. Her jest was well made but I tossed in a little self disparagement for levity's sake "Well some are but then there are those of us who get out so seldom we tend to forget even the familiar ones."

"Don't tell me you loose your skill." I replied with just a touch of a mocking shocked voice. The double entendre was quite amusing.

"Well I would like to think not but that requires an impartial observer to determine" I gave her a devilish grin. "When practicing alone it is really hard to find an observer who is impartial and watching in a mirror is a little bit on the odd side." I was never one to take myself too seriously and it had served me well even if my humor tended to be on the dry side.

I couldn't help it, I started laughing. The mental image was just too much. "You're a peach." I told him in between the laughter.

"Thank you" I gave her a tight lipped smile as I added "and I did not even go into the methods of meeting a stranger so to speak." Distracted I stumbled a small little bit but recovered without doing either of us damage. Though I did use the opportunity to nestle our bodies more snuggly as I could feel my well leashed desire being a little more assertive with me. "And you are a quite beautiful woman."

“I find alternating hands to keep the spice alive to be a perfectly viable technique” I could feel my eyes sparkling a bit as I let the fingers of one hand tighten against her lower back then the other. “Does the lady have any preferred methods of amusement in her vast and infinite repertoire?”

“You meet strangers by switching hands?” I asked, following the logic to a ridiculous conclusion.
