I had at last secured a comfortable home complete with two stories, a small garden and a servant staff of a half a dozen. It was not horribly lavish, but it was comfortable. And I set about setting in. I really did not have much in the way of possessions as my sea voyage her prevented that. So like with many things since taking this post I would need to acquire it here.
I was learning a great deal already about my assignment as well as myself. It seems Illyria is not in as bad a shape here as it was feared. And my idea about working into the fur shipping business did hold merit. Not to mention the connections I had been busy making. Some more intimate than others.
That in turn twisted my mind toward myself. It seemed in this place matters of flesh and the heart were indeed taken very seriously. It also seemed that coupling was common and accepted and that the people really did take their religion seriously. Said religion centering around love. This all of course forced me to take stock of myself and what those I had interacted with had brought out in me. I was not terribly sure what I thought about what was seeming to be my predispositions.
