Ambrose de la Courcel
Deceased[/center]
Appearance:
Lacking almost every characteristic feature of his lineage, Ambrose posseses milky white hair streaked with rays of golden sunlight. His only visual cue to his royal House Courcel heritage is his long, slender neck rising above his broad shoulders. Sapphire blue eyes mark him as the son of his father, while his ivory complexion seems to come from some distant relative. Lean and built like a warrior, he commands an air of presence and command whereever he ventures.
History:
Prince Ambrose was sent away in secrecy to be fostered under the Queen's Poet, Miriam de Mereliot, until his parents could be wed, Ambrose was raised a poet and scholar. For years, his interests pushed him to pour over ancient volumes and obscure texts written both in D'Angeline and forieng languages alike. His skill for the tongues combined with his quick wits and fast learning pace made a formidable scholar and one of the most creative young poets of the age.
Aware of his heritage and destiny from birth, he never truly let it get to his head. Not even attendance to the prestigious Univeristy of Tiberium. There is love for poetry was prospered and nurtured. In his third year, he met Trisèlene y Tiberium, the daughter of a high-ranking Tiberian noble. A bond greater than friendship was forged between them, one that would eventually lead to a bethrothral in the future.
During the course of his studies, Sidonie was wed and officially crowned in Ysandre's stead, eventhough she'd served as the Queen of Terre d'Ange for nearly a decade. Sidonie beseeched her son to return home and take up his rightful place at the Palace. But he refused outright, wishing to complete his studies and remain at Tiberium with Trisèlene.
After his studies at Tiberium, Ambrose returned home to Terre d'Ange. Upon his return, he was heralded as the Crown Prince to all the D'Angeline people.
An attempt to take his life was made by unknown conspirators took place. When word reached the Queen of Terre d'Ange, he was immediately brought home.
Without Trisèlene by his side, he took up training with the Prefect of the Cassiline Brotherhood to occupy his time. Sidonie approved of the idea, relations with the Khalif of Khebbel-im-Akkad deteriorating as they were. If war was imminent, then the Crown Prince of Terre d'Ange would need to be able to defend himself.
The Battle of the Marsilikos came at the end of his fourth year with the Brotherhood. When the Khalif declared war upon Terre d'Ange by sending an armada of his best ships against the ports of Eisande, Ambrose de la Courcel was placed in charge of both the Royal Army and Royal Navy. With the combined might of Terre d'Ange, Aragonia, Caerdicca Unitas and Tiberium by his side, Ambrose managed to repelled the attacking force and in turn blockade the Khalif's men in their homeland. Both land and sea was closed to them outside of their borders, but the war was not over.
The Battle of Nineveh marked its end, when in secret Ambrose rode into the heart of Khebbel-im-Akkad and faced the Khalif himself. Overcoming all odds, they breached its defenses and entered into his throne room. There they detained him and forced him to a withdrawal of forces and a cease fire.
Months of diplomatic tension breaking and reconstruction followed in its wake, led by Ambrose. Eventually, the Khalif agreed to an alliance with Terre d'Ange.
When the war was concluded and Ambrose returned to his homeland, he announced that he would be wed to Terisèlene during the Longest Night. A month later, the wedding took place. Ambrose stood as both the Crown Prince and beloved hero of Terre d'Ange.
