Ermande Duvon de Silvain, House Silvain - cousin to D'antoine de Silvain
Age: 28
Race: d'Angeline
Height: 6'
Appearance: Ermande takes after his mother in more ways than one, his looks for instance; most of the men of his family he has dark hair and strong features but like his mother he has brown eyes and a comical grin that gets him more attention than he realizes. He is of average build but light and quick on his feet. He has a good hand with a sword but doesn't believe he is as confident with the blade as others say he is. He doesn't think much about his appearance but likes to practice swordsmanship and hunting in hopes of improving on what nature has given him.
History: Ermande's mother, Millicent, daughter of the former Duc Silvain and sister to Duc Quentin de Silvain, was rather young when she decided that she would run off with one of her father's chevalier's. She had been a rather spirited young woman and the two had made plans to get married quickly. Alas the story did not have a happy ending, and things became a little complicated when she told him that she had lit a candle to Eisheth in his name and that she wanted a son. Her lover balked at the thought of having future responsibilities and fled, never to be seen again. Therefore Millicent was left alone and without a father for her child. A few years after her son was born she finally returned to her father's house and asked for them to forgive her of her misdeeds.
Unfortunately her father had died shortly after she had run away with her lover, so she came home to find her elder brother holding the title of Duc. Quentin was pleased to see her and welcomed her home with open arms. He was deeply saddened to hear of her misfortune but was glad to meet his young nephew, whom she had named after his father and her father both.
Ermande grew up with his cousin D'antoine, the two of them as inseparable as brothers and more loyal to each other than you'd possibly believe, giving them reign to fall into whatever mischief they could dream up. Ermande emulated his cousin and wanted to do everything just like him and so their parents decided to let him go wherever he wished, and study what ever pleased him. Ermande grew in knowledge and competence and eventually his uncle decided that he could trust him with stewardship of one of their smaller estates.
His mother has decided to take up residence at the estate, telling her son that she has grown tired of court life and just wants to be close to her son. Although she is saddened by her brother's failing health she says that her brother already has a fine lady and a wonderful son to take care of him, and that her brother no longer needs her to keep the house in order.
Ermande remains close to his older cousin and is frequently found in his company, bantering about their exploits and catching up on the day to day of things. He has now placed his own steward in attendance at his country estate, as he frequently visits the city to catch up with D'antoine and make himself known at court events.
