We arrived at the town home, and I helped Cascata out of the carriage. "How did you find the Coronation ?" I asked her as we walked to the town home.

I walked with Gil into our town house, "I was impressed, and the queen was so pretty." I sighed in happyness but then turned my mind to future matters. "I am most definintly excited for the fete though!"

"So am I, to be sincere. I am go through the motions at stuffy ceremonies, but deep down, I am like you. I prefer a less formal setting," I replied with a large smile. "Will you change for the Fete?"

"It is good to know that we have a few things in common," I said, winking at my brother as if we didn't have much in common. Though in reality I guess we are not that completely different.
"I don't know if I will change, since I would have to find something to change into."

I grinned, and held my chin a moment. "Sounds like a complicated problem. Maybe you should go about the house and see if there is anything worth changing into," I said with a large measure of mischief.

I looked at my brother with raised eyebrows, "would I be correct in assuming that there is some dress stashed about our house somewhere? I have to say, you sure can make a girl work for her gifts."

"Now, now, Cas, you know I like to tease you. And, as I said before, you are cunning. So don't make me say it," I said with a huge grin.

I folded my arms and gave my brother my usual annoyed look at his games, but in truth I was excited for it, and I'm sure he knew.
We reached the front door and I walked in, taking a look around, wondering were to start first. I then looked at Gil to see if he would give me a clue.

I had laughed in a good-natured way at Cascata's look of annoyance, and opened the door for her.
When she was through, I closed the door behind us, and leaned against it, my arms crossed. "Well, where will you start?"

I thought for a moment, trying to think as my brother does. Which can be a scary task in itself. "Since you already had one in your study... and I might see it in my room... maybe the guest room?"

"A wise choice, sister," I said with a wide grin. I followed her to the guestroom. She could search all she wanted. The room had nothing which would do for her, that I knew, but I let her look anyway a moment. "A wise choice, but not quite right. Think a moment, what if I hadn't come home with you?"

I looked in the closet of the guest room, but there was nothing unusual there. After Gil spoke I looked at him and then said, "you would have to put it someplace that I would go on my own then." Thinking that maybe I had been wrong with my first assumptions I asked, "my bedroom?"

"Lead the way, sweet sister," I said, my grin that of appreciation. And indeed, she had been right this time. I only hoped she would like that one as much as she liked the purple dress.

I was happy to know were the new dress was and I happily led Gil toward my bedroom. I walked in excitedly, heading toward the closet.

I smiled, leaning against the wall. Cascata was like a happy child on her natal. What a sight !
I knew her innocence was ebbing, and soon, she would take her title, but in the meantime, I was content to spoil her as I could. The hardships would come soon enough.

I opened the closet and it was obvious which dress had not been there before. The dress was black, with a ruffle on the front that split it high up the leg. The boddice had a design on it in small sparkly jewels. It was a dress that seemed elegant and fun at the same time.
I broke my gaze from it and turned to face my brother. "Thank you! Its gorgous."

I smiled quietly. "You're welcome, darling sister. I want you to have fun tonight, as much as you can, promise me," I said warmly.

I walked over to Gil and gave him a warm hug before replying, a look of mischif in my eyes, "oh, do not worry yourself, I will have fun tonight. You should probably make me promise you not to cause any trouble instead."

I blurted out a heavy chuckle. "Well, I'll trust you not to do anything to disgrace the House or the Nation, and nothing to embarrass me personally, how's that? " I meant every word of it, and I knew she would do as such. Besides, if she didn't I would send her home to be with our mother. And that, I knew, was something she would go to great lengths to avoid.
"I'll go and change, and I have a visit to pay to your future liege, so don't wait up for me. I'll ride to the fete, you may keep the carriage. Just one thing, though. Don't get yourself in trouble, or hurt, or you will know my true name, it's a solemn promise," I told her softly, warmly, but very truthfully. She did strike an inkling of worry with her allegations of trouble-making.

I had a few mixed emotions about going to the fete by myself, but I was most happy to know that he trusted me to do as such. It also spoke well for the city, that he could trust it as well.
I gave him another small hug and said, "don't worry yourself to much, I won't do anything mad, I love you to much to put you in that situtation. Espcially with your station here and all that."

I gave Cascata a soft smile, "I love you too, Cascata Stregazza. And I trust you."
I gave her a little hug, and nodding a goodbye, made my way to my room, where I quickly donned the finest D'Angeline attire I had ever purchased in my life.
I would surprise Mirielle, and see the riddle to the end.

When my brother left my room I turned around to check the dress out once more. I then saught out the same two servant girls who had helped me ready for the fete. I filled their ears with the wonders of the coronation as they helped me prepair. A bath, a new hair style, and new makeup to go with the new dress. We chatted away as the evening and the fete grew closer.
When I was ready I took one last look in the mirror. The dress fit me well and I was impressed with my brother's ability to find something that fit me so well. My hair was up in a bun on top of my head, but I had playful curls hanging out of it and down around my face. The girls put a few sparkly hair pins in my bun that matched my dress. With red lips and make-up that spoke of confidence but was not to loud, I walked out of the house and into the carriage. The night had finally came and I was excited for it.
