I'd been in the midst of singular report from my estate when I found my mind wandering, as surprising and uncharacteristic as it were. Shifting my seat I attempted to refocus again, and again my mind drifted elsewhere, turning around thoughts of a handsome man from La Serenissima, of the wells of my own heart for the silence of this room.
Sitting back at my desk, I fingered the parchment without thought as I reflected, thinking along events that had transpired. My shoulders tensed, and before I knew it I'd sat up again and taken a clean piece of parchment, thick and heavy, to pen a note.
Once it were done I sprinkled sand across it and let it sit as I relaxed back in my chair, mulling the structure. I'd paused several times on the point of asking about her brother, though it'd have been rude of me to not only have turned a well-meant invitation into a selfish plot to gain information on her brothers feelings; it'd also have been cruel to Gillermo, who knew naught where I stood still. The commission was scheduled to be completed by this evening at the latest and I had every intention of gaining it before going home, regardless as to the days outcomes.
I shook the sand off and paused before folding it and putting my seal down, wondering slightly if it would find its way across Gillermo... Ah. My thoughts kept turning back.
Rising, I left my study with a purpose and went down the winding stairwell, calling out ahead of me for Rosetta. Once her willowy frame came into view I handed her the letter and asked if her teenage son could carry it for me to the Stregazza townhome belonging to Cascata and Gillermo, and to leave it for Cascata herself. With a smile Rosetta took it and trotted off to find her eldest child, and I was left once again with naught but my own thoughts.
It was going to prove to be an interesting day, or so I predicted.
