"If we get our share of foreigners, why not?" I replied with a grin. "I am certain the City holds wonders - we will simply have to pay heed to what there is to find, won't we?"

I nodded, "Indeed we will, I think there is much for us to learn inside those white walls of Elua. Maybe we can even share some, eh?" I winked and gave a little laugh, but I knew in my heart I would need to find someone first.

I returned her grin. "Eh, why not? What kind of friends would we be, if we didn't share?" And I laughed at the idea, although I hadn't given much thought to the idea of being in bed with another girl. After all, I'd barely had any education in that area - or in any other, for that matter.

I laughed, "Indeed." We were really close to the city now, and I knew another few moments we'd be through the gate, so I made sure to invite Julie over, "You must come over sometime this week. Maybe we could play a game or so in the game parlor at the palace? We can see what sort of information and gossip we can pick up there as well. What do you say?"

"It sounds perfect, Ambre. I can't wait, in truth," I replied. "Tell you what, I will show up at your house, 2 days after the fete - so that we can recuperate from all the intense festivities accordingly, and we can go from there, take our fun to the Hall of Games and such."

I grinned, "Sounds like a grand idea. I'm sure we'll be able to meet plenty of people and learn lots of things, like how to win the money from nobles and then like, no?"

"He he, you always see the best of it, Ambre." I replied with a chuckle. "Yes, we will win something of it, be it money or else," and I thought it wryly. In the city, two young girls like us would be a prize - and so, expectedly, we would win as much as we would be won.

"Someone has to, otherwise everyone would be sad and mistrustful. I guess I'll have to be your better half." I teasingly stuck out my tongue to her like a five year old.

"Better half, or rotten half ?" I asked with a giggle. I extended my hand, and messed up her hair lightly. "Here, now we look more alike, miss prissy-pants," I added with a teasing grin.

My eyes widened as she tossled my hair. I had never been fond of when Justine had done it. I tugged on the reins of Firestride, making him step over his hoofs and turn enough so to nudge the backside of Julie's mount a little out of the path she was walking. Julie's mount stumbled, but not much so, and I gave Julie a sly smile, "Oh rotten? Dear I've been as sweet as honey, you've never seen my rotten side thus far, and I doubt you'd want to. I am a handful when sweet Now rotten, two giant hands couldn't hold me back." I gave her a little wink and a big grin.

Adrienne had just proven to me that she was a good rider. That counted for a great deal.
"I'll gladly be the rotten half - as long as you don't pull another one like that again, Ambre," I told her with a grin. "Now, what's a little teasing going to do to our better half? Besides, you look lovely this way," I added with a wild smile.

"Oh? Is that in now woodlen nymph? To have one's hair wind brushed with nature? I'll surely have to try it out on an unsuspecting gentleman. I've been a rag doll most of my life, and though I don't mind my hair my hair getting messy, I hate explaining it to my mother, and would rather have it tousled by a lover. No offense to you or my brothers."
We were at the gates now just about, and I slowed my mount, making sure he didn't trample pedestrians.

"Point well noted, Better-half," I replied. "I intend to be your friend, not your brother. Besides, I'm missing a vital piece of equipment to get that title."
Someone yelled at me, offereing me to buy some apples and I refused gratefully.
"What way's your home?" I asked offhandedly.

I blinked and then turned to where Brian was. I saw him some distance back still in conversation with Nicole. "In truth I have no idea yet. I've always been following Brian, and he's been to court before with Justine." I pointed up a hill towards some nicer looking townhomes, "Up that way I think? Which way do you live?"

I pointed my finger in the general direction of a quieter neighbourhood, through the throng of marketeers. "That way," I told her. "The only reason I know is I had to walk home from Mont-Nuit yesterday."
A little child held up his hand and I ruffled his hair, "Don't pet foreign horses, honey, you are lucky this one is good natured."

"Well I best wait for Brian to guide me, I've walked away from our townhouse, but it appears I only arrive at it again in the dark." I guided my horse slightly out of the throng of people and off to the side of the road. I didn't want to block traffic and twisted my body enough to try and view the progress of Brian and NIcole.

I followed Ambre. "I will wait with you until they come. I would hate for your mother to string Brian out on behalf of my Nicole," I said with a teasing smile.
"Do you expect the Comtesse will be very angry if you come home late?" I asked, my mind on my own promise to Kendrick.

I gave her a wry smile, "I'm sure my love for her will talk her out of it? Truthfully, I think she remembers what it was like to be young and youthful, so she isn't every really hard on me. She knows that I've been trying to change in a way that befits my rank. What about you? Will you get in trouble?"

I shrugged. "I don't have a parent here in the City, only a moody older brother who dotes on me, but in truth, no, I doubt so. I was out all night yesterday, and got barely anything more than an arched eyebrow. He did make me promise to be home on time, and I don't want to worry him - but he won't do anything to me, save perhaps throw me in the bird basin, as he would when we were children."

I smirked at the thought of trying to put Julie in a bird basin, I couldn't quite see anyone making her do something against her will, "Well that's good that he doesn't punish you and try to control your life. It would be unfair of him, besides you're an adult now. You can make your own choices, good or bad." Brian and Nicole had spotted us and were starting to come towards us.

"True," I said pensively. I rarely thought of myself as an adult or a child, really. "He has his faults, but he is very respectful. I love my brother, you know," I told her.
Brian and Nicole were close enough now, and I said, "Well, Brian, thank you for trusting me with your ward, as you see, she is quite safe." I gave Nicole a wink of amusement. She was blooming alright.

Brian gave Julie a grin, "I'm not so sure about that, you did remind her how to climb trees," he pointed out good naturely. I laughed, and turned to Julie, "Well I hope to see you at the fete, it was quite nice to meet you, I rather enjoyed it. I trust you will protect Nicole's virtue. I'm sure we'll be seeing each other soon."

"You can count on me, sweet thing," I told her in reply. "I will see you at the Fete, and we will meet up when it is all done, and catch up," I told her. And with a smile of goodbye, I took the road calmly, leading Nicole out of the crowd, and home.
As we left, I turned around one last time to see her off. I did like this girl, very, very much.

I waved to the two as we partied ways, and then turned to Brian following his mount. "Did you have fun Brian? Hmm? The women seem to love you here. Somehow I think you'll not be wanting to go back to Siovale anytime soon." Brian laughed and I smiled following up the street on our to my new home.
