Name: Mathieu L'Envers de Montegue
Age: 18
Race: D’Angeline
Gender: Male
Description: Mathieu L’Envers is a tall young man of about 6’2 broad of shoulder and is the spitting image of his late father Trystan L’Envers. He has shoulder length blonde hair that he normally ties back and violet eyes that betray his heritage. He is gregarious, outgoing, haughty, power hungry, and not the least bit above using under handed means to get his way.
The younger brother of Juliette L’Envers de Montegue Mathieu is eternally jealous of his older sister and her title that he feels should have rightfully been his upon the death of their father. But much like during their childhood his quiet older sister always seems to manage to outshine him. When they were youths he was playing in the armory and upset a rack of weapons. Juliette caught it and saved him while taking serious injury to her hands that scarred her for life.
So while Juliette was praised as a hero and lavished with attention whilst she healed Mathieu was punished and chastised. The rift between siblings never really healed and has just festered with time. The final straw being when his sister was given the title of Duchesse and he did not become a Duc Mathieu’s hostility is always there barely under the surface when in the presence of his sibling.
Like his sibling he has always spent summer in Namarre and winters in the City of Elua. But unlike her he has never bothered to learn the trades’ people or their ways. For Mathieu L’Envers those sorts are too far below his lofty station to hardly be noticed. But since Mathieu did not inherit the title his sister did he had to find another means to make his way while he plotted.
He settled on military strategy since the army had been his father’s trade and his ultimate death. But Matt was never a lead from the front sort his father had been and all that got him was dead. Instead Mathieu has studied strategy and how to inspire and lead armies whilst taking the opposition apart. With his young age he is short of experience and long on theory, but he is working to remedy that.
One does not lead men without learning some martial skill of their own though that is a bit ironic considering the accident with his sister that so altered both their lives. Mathieu is a fine horsemen and handles a bow very well mounted or on foot. The blade though is not his long suit and his skill with it is only average at best. This suits the youth just fine because like most bullies and braggarts through the years he would rather settle matters from afar than up close and personal.
Though by far the times he enjoys most are spent around the Hall of Games and the Night Court lounging and enjoying the lap of luxury that he thinks is his birth right. With a sharp mind games of chance as well as chess are his forte and a nominal income is earned from the proceedings. It suits the lad as he long ago figured out a sharp tongue and mind are perhaps the most formidable tools one can have.
