Name: Marcella de Tourais, Contessa de Tourais
Age: 23
Height: 5'10
Race: D'Angeline (Eluine/Kusheline), Caerdicci
Home Province: Caerdicci Provinces
Gender: Female
Appearance: Marcella is thin and lithe, and frail looking, an almost sickly looking woman with a cast of white skin and tall at 5'10. Her eyes have a deep blue to them, with a deep and dark but an almost crystal shine to them, like saphires. Her hair is long to her waist and with hard curls, it’s a stark black with almost hints of rare blue. Her neck is long and sleek something that she inherited from her father's side of the family. Her Caerdicci heritage is never present in anything that Marcella or others can tell. As far as anyone who meets her she appears as pure D'Angeline.
History: The story of Marcella's life is plagued with rumors, intrigue, mystery and a taste of vengeance that only Marcella understands. Beginning with her parents, Marcella's father (or of what he has told her) was an only child given the title of Conte early in his life, at the age of sixteen as a matter of fact. He was raised briefly by his mother then eventually sent to the Covenant of Asherat where he was raised by priestesses of Asherat. Marcel (her father) knew little of his own past, his father (supposedly D'Angeline) he never knew; dead before his birth, his mother was herself a former priestess and always wore a veil of Asherate, not once had he seen her face.
His life was less then interesting until the age of sixteen when he was informed of his title by his reclusive mother in a letter. It was then that he was told about his own parents past but this has never been divulged to Marcella herself, Marcella doesn't even know his grandparent's first names (though her father once mentioned something about a honey bee and the name Etaine). Marcel spent many years traveling, mostly to Terre d'Ange, and to other nations in the area's surrounding Caerdicca Unitas and 'seeking knowledge' as he told Marcella. One of Marcel's favourite places to visit though became the City of Elua…and more specifically Valerian House, he found a true fondness for the Night Court.
When Marcel was in his thirties though he met a young woman, Marcella's mother, Maria. She was young, much more then him, a younger daughter of one of the Hundred Worthy Family's and only sixteen when they wed. At first the union seemed profitable as Marcel had built himself many connections through his travels and that was a bonus to Maria's family. But after two years Maria tired of Marcel and his odd behaviours, often disappearing for days and weeks at a time, he also became cruel in the bedroom. Maria was constantly bruised and on more then one occasion had to have a chirurgeon visit and many times was confined to bed due to breaks, contusions, and injuries. When Maria was twenty she became with child and happy for the surprise was sure that the child would calm her wild elder husband. Marcel was less then pleased but satisfied that his wife would have something to fill her life with, but it never stopped Marcel from his brutal ways. Two months into her pregnancy Marcel returned home drunk with a night of drinking, he raped and beat Maria causing a miscarriage. Maria was distrot and spent days in bed but eventually sneaking off to her parents home. after a though week Marcel came looking for her professing his love for her. Maria went back to their home and with in a year Maria and Marcel had again forged a 'loving' relationship. But again Marcel came home from a night of drinking and though Maria allowed Marcel to bed her, she cried through most of the night and again felt as though Marcel had raped her. It was soon after that night that Maria found herself pregnant, but this time Maria traveled back to her parents and spend her time in the safety of her parent's home.
Nine months later Marcella was born to both parent's delight, Marcel had actually become quiet taking with his small daughter. As Marcella grew Marcel delighted in her cruel torment of other children, cunning mind and stunning beauty. Even at the age of eight, Marcella convinced a merchant to give her money in exchange of sexual favours, her mother found her before any thing happened but was of course outraged at her daughter's behaviour following in father's footsteps. Marcel was in the opposite thinking, where Maria tried her best to curb her daughter's behaviour Marcel encouraged it. It was then that Marcel knew what he had to do with his daughter, at the age of nine Marcella was sent to away to study with an acquaintance of Marcel's.
Marcella was sent to Camlach where she studied with a former Valerian adept and his wife a former Mandrake adept. It was also then that Maria disappeared, once on a trip home to La Serenissima Marcella discovered her mother missing and only a letter written in what vaguely looked like her mother's hand. It simply said, "Life was not as it seemed, I can not love a monster, good bye." Marcel claimed that Maria had been disgraced by their daughter's tastes and left because she no longer loved Marcella but Marcella remembers differently. Though she would have never disagreed with her father at the time, she remembers a fortnight previous to her departure. She over heard her parents discussing Marcella's fate, Marcel of course advocated Marcella's relocation but her mother did not approve threatening to take Marcella and disapear if she left. Marcella did not understand at first but as she grew she was pretty confident that her father had murdered her mother for his own gain.
Marcella grew learning not only the ways of the Night Court and her own dedication into the Service of Naamah, but of D'Angeline history…her own history. When Marcella was sixteen she began taking patrons, but it was not just those who chose to be dominated over (though she had a definite preference for them). She was also strong and was able to submit taking much in the way of pain, some of her patrons even swore a anquisette quality. No matter what though Marcella prospered and by her 20th natal, with only four years of service she made her marque. Afterward she spent much time traveling spending most of her time in Tiberium where she made her home for 3 years and built herself a sizable income as well as a friend and benefactor; one that remains unnammed to this day.
Finally she returned to her father in La Serenissima, he was beyond pleased to see her return but it was a brief visit as Marcella only returned for one thing…Her title. One night Marcel went out drinking, as he usually did, but instead of returning home, the next day he was found face down in one of the many canals. It was so that the title of Contessa (Comtesse) was passed to Marcella, she quickly sold the family home for a tidy profit and ventured to the only place she needed to be. After hearing of the crown of House Courcel being passed, Marcella saw it as a sign and ventured alone to the City of Elua.
