Age: 30
Race: Skaldia
Gender: Male
Description: Uruz Teiwaz is a mountain of a man of about 6’6 and consisting of broad shoulders and stout legs made of hard muscle and sinew. Life has been hard and it has toughened him to near granite condition from his weather worn face complete with thick beard to his ice blue eyes that often seem to shoot sparks. His hair is dirty blonde and he tends to wear well used leathers and furs with his trusty battle ax strung cross his back in places where he is allowed to carry it.
Personality: Uruz is the Skaldian ideal of a man loud, brash, and braggadocios. Men of his mettle are not quiet or meek in any sense of the word and it is a matter of honor to brag of what they can accomplish and then do it or die in the process. Uruz only trust and believes in those who have proven themselves and those who have not are to be berated and beaten until they find the metal to do so.
Uruz Teiwaz was born to the Jarl of a small Skaldian steading thirty years ago. He grew to adulthood in the harsh Skaldic culture and thrived. As a youth drinking up the stories of glory around his father’s table in the great hall young Uruz learned how to be a proper warrior. At his fathers passing he easily assumed the title of Jarl himself as he was a stalwart companion and skilled leader of the steading having aided his father greatly in his later years.
But Skaldic culture is harsh and made even harsher by the environment. Especially in the years that have followed Waldemar Selig’s invasion. The already stretched resources got even more stretched. The normal divisions in the society were even tenser during those years and the Skladia fell to their usual ways of raiding neighboring clans for what they needed.
Uruz’s father managed these things as it was a matter often times of taking what one needs or perishing. That would in turn leave hard feelings and blood feuds with the neighbors often leading to hall burnings and blood eagles as they went back and forth. Though some degree of stability was starting to return as Uruz ascended after defeating a challenger in the Holmgang for the right to lead the steading after his father’s passing on to Valhal.
Though as time passed and Uruz ax lead his steading well one of those old feuds came back to haunt him. Set upon one night on all sides Uruz’s steading fell and he was forced to flee hunted across the length of the country with only his loyal Thegn at his side.
His Thegn though is of unquestioning loyalty and for that Uruz is thankful. Eyvind Loevess was taken in as an orphan and raised by Uruz’s family. Indeed the two often looked upon each other as brothers and Eyvind was there for the fallen Jarl’s greatest victories. And now it seems they share the greatest defeat.
Indeed the mighty have fallen. As a last ditch attempt at life the pair have fled into Terre d’ Ange slipping past the patrols on the boarder of Camlach and they hope to find a life in the lands their people once tried to conquer. Between the two of them they have little more than the clothes on their backs and are steadily making their way toward the City of Elua. Forgoing the normal method of pillaging since this is not an army Uruz actually seeks gainful employ of some sort weather with arms or crafting them as Uruz has some skill at both sides of the art of weapons.
