"I'm sure he knows enough irritating, stuffy nobles to drive me into insanity." I replied with a grin. "Though he has been kind so far, and hasn't let loose the hounds on his poor, shy cousin."

"That's because I've kept him distracted," I said, grinning and fighting another chuckle.
I heard the horologist call the hour in the distance.
"Oh my, is it really that late?" I asked looking surprised.

We had passed the afternoon away with laughter. "I should probably let you go back to distracting him then." I said, seeing the look on her face. "I wouldn't want to keep you from anything."

"I wish I could stay, but I've a meeting about the flowers this evening," I said, smiling regretfully.
"I can not tell you how much fun this has been and how truly wonderful you are," I told her, my smile turning warm and genuinely happy.

I blushed a little. "I'm just glad I could spend the time with you before you were thrown into the family. Elliot is a lucky man. I am going to remind him several times the next time I see him." I said the last with a joking smile on my face.

"That would be lovely, then I can take a day off from my constantly reminding him," I replied, chuckling.
Shaking my head, I stood up. "I should go before we start up again and they have to call a healer for us."

"And if we don't do this again before the wedding, I would love to do it again after the honeymoon. Besides, we'll have the success, or not, of our scheme to talk about." I grinned as we rose and started for the door.

"Those plans have to be successful," I said with a grin. "It'll be my wedding day after all, everything is supposed to go my way."

I laughed as we left my study and headed for the door. "Oh, but of course. Perhaps we can pass off our request as one of your wedding day whims, before we resort to pushing?"

I tilted my head as if considering.
"No, I like the pushing idea," I said, laughing again.

Our laughter brought us to the door, and I wiped away a tear from the merriment. "I'm not sure whether you are dangerous to my health, or just a whole lot of fun." I told her, still chuckling.

"I hope it's the fun one, for I'd like to do this again and not worry about your health," I told her, smiling.
I put my arms around her and hugged her. "Thank you for a wonderful time and I will see you at the wedding if not before."

I hugged her back. "And if we don't see each other before the wedding, all the best, and I will see you at the reception."

"Be well," I said, smiling as I stepped back and then went out to my carriage and headed home.

I smiled and watched her climb into the carriage and ride off, standing on the stoop. I went back inside after a moment with a smile on my face. Life was good. Not without its problems, but good.
