I looked over my shoulder to the Shahrizai that still wandered around us. "Nothing interesting." I replied. "You?"

"Anything new," I said. "My cousin's library needs updating."
I glanced over at the man and smiled, hoping he would approach.

I could feel the three ladies looking me. I Wondered why I interested them so. Must be why they interest me so I guessed. Being so used to tavern girls back in Siovale, I wasn't quite sure where I stood with these city ladies. Deciding to take a chance I went closer to the three, waiting of to the side. Not wanting to interrupt.

I nodded.
"You like them don't you." I said my eye on the handsome man. "The Shahrizai."

Unsettled by her question, I replied, "No more or less than I like anybody else, my lady."

I smiled knowingly. "They interest you no?" I asked curiously. "You've had a run in with them before?"

Having not been addressed I stepped closer and bowed deepely. "Ladies, seeing as we have all seen one another, I am Rainier Shahrizai de Anwell. I apologize for possibly disrupting your chat. I was only curious. I'm new to the city."

I turned to him. "Well met cousin." I said smiling. "You're welcome to join if the other ladies don't mind." I said looking to Avive and the other girl...oh shoot I didn't get her name.

I looked up when Rainier introduced himself. "I surely don't mind." I said to him. Standing I introduced my self to him and Marcella, having caught her name but not talked to her, "I am Christelle de Demitri."

"Ah, well met to you as well, cousin, " the word cousin akwardly rolled out of my mouth, "and you lady de Demitri, and lady..."

Thank Elua, before I had to answer the man introduced himself. "Avive de Mauvais," I said, dipping slightly. "A pleasure, my lord."

"Ah, lady Mauvais, the pleasure is mine." I said smiling the broadly. "What more could I want than to be standing here with three beautiful women, and on my first day in the city too. The pleasure is all mine," I said again.
"So, what brings you ladies here today?" I looked around to the three of them.

I chuckled softly at his question.
"Books," I said plainly. "Why else?" I raised my brows in a teasing fashion.

I smiled. "We were just discussing this novel," I said, holding it up to show him.

I laughed, "Well of course! Please excuse my stupidity."
I looked at the book Avive held up to me. "I see," I said. Looking at Christelle, seeing a book on the table by her, I turned to Marcella, "Why is it, if we have all come here for books, that you do not have a book, cousin?" I asked coyly.

I chuckled softly. "Because I've found nothing of interest...yet." I replied crossing my right arm across my chest and letting my left elbow rest on the right.
"Perhaps you could direct me towards something with a bit more...intrigue."

Though I said nothing, these two spoke with an intimacy that was more than familial, and it unsettled me. I instead addressed Christelle: "Have you been in the city long, my lady?"

"No, I've only been here for a few days. I've spent them upacking and exploring."
"Have you always lived here?"

"Oh, no," I said. "I'm from Siovale originally, my father sent me to live with my cousin and finish my education."

"Intrigue, hmmm," I looked around. "I've not had enough time to find anything but this book of poetry," I showed her the book I'd looked at. "It has some poems, if interpreted correctly, you could find to your liking." I smiled.

"Oh yes, Siovale. I've only just come from there as well. This is my first trip away from there, except when I was four of course."

I carefully listened to the girls beside me as I carefully took the book from Rainier.
"Hm, poetry." I said flipping through them. "I'm sure Lady Avive would enjoy this." I said wryly.

Hearing my name, I glanced at the book Marcella was holding. Her tone was dry and condescending and I didn't like it. "Which book is that, my lord?" I asked.

I handed the book I had just recieved from Rainier to Avive and turned back to him.
"I think you'll find that Lady Avive has a keen interest in anything Shahrizai." I said softly and in a kind voice dripped with honey.

"I like to study family trees," I replied equally as sweetly. "The Shahrizai have a particularly interesting one, is all." Though I am not sure where you fit into it, my lady.
I looked down at the book. Something I had already read. Fine. "I have read this," I said. "It is excellent, my lady."

Thank you little Avive, so I was right. I smiled to the young girl.
"Forgive me, I meant no offense." I said softly and pretending sincerly that I hadn't.

By Shemhazai, this woman was a viper disguised as a garden snake. "None taken," I said, handing the poetry book back to her.

Answering Avive's question, I said "Here, actually. My mother brought me to the city to see a relative. Well, so I'm told. I don't remember anything except a vague picture of the white walls of the city, nothing else."

I watched the interaction between Avive and Marcella with interest. I could see Avive getting slightly nervous. And Marcella causing this. I chuckled to myself and wondered what interaction with the Shahrizai would get under such a sturdy person, like Avive's skin.
"So cousin, what would you suggest?" I said emphazing the word you with a slight smile.
