I finished dressing and looked at myself in the mirror.
I was glad in a gown a velvet so dark green it was almost black. The gown clung to my body in a very revealing way, though the only skin showing was my hands and from my neck up. I wore a wide silver bracelet on each wrist, and a matching silver necklace. My hair was up in an intricate twist and held in place by two silver hair sticks, each topped with an emerald chip.
I added a touch of carmine to my lips, a color that I had made especially for myself, and then dabbed fragrance at the pulse points on my neck and wrists.
I smiled as I gathered my shawl and went downstairs, to my carriage and then to Désir.
