I pulled up the town home and stepped out moving to the door and knocking.
"Good day, I've come to speak to the new Duc de Siovale." I said smiling as a servant opened the door. "Will you tell him the Duchesse L'Envers is here to see him?" I smiled innocently batting my lashes knowing that it would be possible for me to be turned away with out name dropping.

Respectably dressed and groomed although probably somewhat redolent of my previous encounter, I entered the morning room at a casual saunter. She was wearing a gown of violet silk that was probably the same shade as her eyes – I say probably because I was rather having trouble getting high enough to meet them.
“My, my, little Evie – you’ve grown up,” I purred. “Kind of you to visit … although somewhat tardy aren’t you? Five years or so, give or take a month.”

I smiled seeing him and raising a brow letting my hands run down the length of my body showing off every curve. "Yes, it seems I have." I smiled relishing in the possible tourture I was giving him. I walked forward breezing past him, my hand just touching his chest.
"Of course I couldn't come to visit." I said my back turned to him. "Did you think I'd allow my name to be sullied by having it connected to you in any way?" I watched over my shoulder and laughed a low hum.
"But of course now that you've some how managed yourself an entire Duchy..." I turned back to him. "How'd you do it Sly, poison? Thieves?" I raised a brow and watched him.
"Tell me have you already sent the house into ruin or are you going to wait a few days?" I chuckled softly crossing my arms and allowing my chest to be pressed together, for his pleasure of course.

She moved about like a woman who knows her own power, flaunting herself to my ever-appreciative eyes. But for all her biting words, she thought enough of me to go the trouble of putting on a very fine show. I was glad she was my second visitor, rather than my first otherwise I would have been far less able to enjoy the display and far more likely to be gouging gashes in the furniture. As it was, I merely subsided elegantly into a chair and watched her with lazy eyes and a semblance of indifference calculated to rile her.
“Oh but you let me sully everything else,” I replied, with infuriating complacency although her air of brittle superiority and way she tried to dismiss me with a laugh played over my nerves as if she had run her nails down a blackboard. “And yes,” I continued, crossing my legs at the ankles and leaning back in my chair, “I have done quite well for myself … by sheer malice and ill-will it appears, rather than any of those cruder methods you imply I’d stoop to.”

I chuckled to myself when he mentioned the fact he had sullied everything else.
"Yes," I said turning around to see him spralled out on the chair. "Your greatest achievement." A wry smile twisted my lips and I walked slowly back to him. "Because you certainly didn't earn anything else on your own." I put my hand forward placing it on the back of his chair and leaning forward matching my gaze with his. "Isn't that the sadest thing you're every heard?" I made a mockingly sad face and pouted my lips softly. "Defiling a young virgin is the only thing you can do properly and without some one telling you to..." I smiled making sure that full view was given of my chest.

Since she was obviously determined to show me everything, I obligingly looked downwards. The scenery was pleasant. But I was repressing the strangest impulse to cringe away from her, I don’t like feeling trapped, and certainly not by Evangeline. I want to live a good, long life. Well. A long life, anyway. Where’s the fun in being good?
I couldn’t help myself. It was just too tempting. I lifted my hand and danced my fingertips lightly across the upswell of her breast – she was probably going to bite them off but, well, they’d be lost in a good cause.
“We all have our talents, little Hellcat,” I said, mildly. I’ve been playing these games far too long to let the idle darts of Evie L’Envers wound me. “But you’re here now. And with such sweet nothings on your lips.”

I surpressed a moan as he touched me and I pushed back from the chair. "Well," I said raising a brow. "Yours seem abundantly clear." I said watching him and my eyes moving to his buldge then back up.

She recoiled from the brush of my fingertips, but I thought I saw her face flicker with something other than aversion. Mmmm. Old habits die hard, so it seems. Her eyes drifted downwards and then up again. I followed them and was somewhat surprised, especially after the exertions of my morning. Old habits do indeed die hard. It must have been that very fine dress.
“I’m just gratified you can admit I have some,” I said, with an insufferable smirk.

I shrugged. "I never said that you didn't have some...some skills." I was curious to see if I could get what I came for. Slowly lowering myself to my knees I placed my hands in his lap. "Why do we always fight Sly?" I looked up at him through thick lashes. "Can't we just...get along." My nails dug into his thighs and I ran my hands across them.

I was very aware of her hands. I managed to look unconcernedly out across the room as she placed them in my lap but I had to bite down on a gasp as she curled her claws into my thighs.
But when I spoke, it was in an easy drawl: “Fight, my darling girl? We never fight. You take pot shots at me and occasionally shoot yourself in the foot, that’s all.”

I moaned.
Damn.
Damn.
Damn.
Did I look so smug in such circumstances?
I’d created a monster. A beautiful monster, just like me.
“I suppose it depends on one’s definitions,” I said, through gritted teeth.
Damn.
Damn.
Damn.
The comebacks are always the first thing to go.

I smiled and began undoing his lacing. "Well, why don't you define it for me." I said running my hand harder over his buldge. "Perhaps I should go find a scholar to help?" I said feeling devilish and standing pointing to the door.

I leant my head against the back of my chair, closing my eyes as I abandoned myself – like the appetite-driven fool I am – to her touch. I was giving myself a strict talking to all the time. Honest. Abruptly, she was gone. My eyes flew wide.
I knew very well she was pretending to leave, just so that I’d ask her to stay. This is an old old game, and hardly a subtle form of it. Of course, there was the possibility that if I refused to play things might go my way anyway. And my pride absolutely demanded a nonchalant response. And yet … her hands on me … familiar and yet different, and edged always with the possibility of disaster, like watching a tiger twine about your ankles purring. My mind and body, it seemed, were irreconcilably in opposition.
I think, had it not been for my first visitor, the encounter might have gone very differently indeed. As it was, however, I managed to murmur: “Why, Evie, are you in need of lessons?”

I smiled and moved over to the chair and sat straddled on his lap. "May be, will you teach me?" I bit my fingers in a helpless fashion.

So my gamble had paid off. And now I was very glad indeed I hadn’t let her make a fool of me – let’s face it, it’s no great triumph to inflame my lusts. My libido is a well-trained dog, it’ll roll on its back for anyone who can whistle. And, more importantly, the brief inner turmoil had allowed me to muster just enough control to continue being provoking.
“I thought I already had.”

I smiled and shook my head innocently. "I've forgotten." I said softly. "Its been so long since I've been with a real man." I said leaning forward and breathing into his ear; it was a lie but I wanted what I wanted and I was going to get it even if I had to lie. "Would you show me?" I whispered in his ear. "Would you take me like you do your country whores?"

I flinched visibly at the mention of my rustic exploits. Something is better than nothing but I didn’t care to be reminded of time misspent rutting with peasants. “Oh we all have to slum it sometimes,” I said, standing up abruptly, sliding her unceremoniously off my lap. “As I’m sure you think you’re slumming now. What’s made you so eager for my sullying attentions?”

I straightened myself standing and watched him, I was obviously lacking in my skills, my lies used to be far more convincing, in truth I was having trouble getting the thoughts of Janyx from my head.
"Oh Sly, has your short time as Duc made you a more noble man?" I asked sarcastically pressing my body to his. "I remember a time when it didn't matter what I wanted," I turned pressing my back to his front and taking his hands and pressing them to my stomach and waist. "You simply took what you wanted." I turned away and stepped back trying not to loose my calm. "That is of course you've found some one else to torture with your urges." I raised a brow, it was true there was a time that I didn't have to work so hard, that he would have taken me the moment I stepped into the house. Now...he seemed more interested in talking then taking.
"Has all that time in the wilds of Siovale made you loose taste for actual women?" I asked crossing my arms and watching him.

“Now, now, my hellcat,” I said, wagging at finger her, “you were willing enough then, just like you’re willing enough now, for all that nasty tongue of yours.”
I watched her impetuous motions with a certain degree of pleasure – she’s always moved like a wild thing pacing the confines of its cage. I used to find a certain sympathy for that. My body tingled a little where she’d pressed herself against it.
“I’m sure you torture people with your urges all the time,” I continued, smiling at her, “for you seem to be doing your damnable best to torture me with mine.”
I didn’t entirely know why I hadn’t just taken her at her instigation. Partially it was because I’d just finished doing just with a woman who had writhed and pleaded and hated me for it and, once my desires have been fulfilled, I’m really rather lazy. And partially, of course, she kept needling me and, although I consider it beneath me to get all riled over the barbs of little Evie, I was nevertheless conscious of a prickling irritation. I could see exactly what she was trying to do, which didn’t help. It just made it worse than it was working.

I laughed and stepped forward. "Let move past these games shall we," I said putting my hands on his chest. "You know you want me, you always have." I gave a wicked grin and cocked my head side ways. "Why not just...take...what you want?" I whispered the word in his ear and let my tongue touch the lobe gently.

I covered her hands with mine and slowly drew them away from my chest, holding her wrists firmly. I met her eyes, a smile to match her own uncurling across my lips.
“But sweet Evie,” I purred, sugar-coated poison dripping from my words, “I’ve already taken it.”

I scoffed and pushed him back pulling my wrists from his grip. "Fine," I said cocking my head side ways. "If you don't want to play then I'm going home," I made an exaggerated curtsy. "It was a pleasure seeing you again my lord." When I straightened myself I batted my lashes and grinned. "Enjoy your wenches." I said smiling and turning to the door. I had had enough men hurt me today I wasn't going to stay for more.
Oh Elua, I wanted Janyx, he'd hold me and say everything would be alright...bastard. I bit down a well of tears and opened the door the the front, my carriage already waiting.

I kept my expression tranquil as she flounced off, the palms of my hands still burning from where I’d held her wrists.
Enjoy your wenches indeed. Little bitch.
There was something going on with my hellcat, that was for certain, and I wondered vaguely what it was and whether it was something I could turn to my advantage. What game was she playing? I like to play games, of course, but not when people played them with me. Or tried to. I shifted uncomfortably, conscious of a lazy sort of desire ignited partially by her touch (well I’m only human) and partially by a memories, both recent and remote.
I reached into the pocket of my coat and brought forth a battered silver cigarillo case. I could really do with getting myself a new one. And finding a soft wreath of sweet smoke a less complicated pleasure than Evie, settled down to that instead.
