It was sunset before I received the note, having been very busy trading and working with shop owners for the day. I read the letter with mild interest, and decided to hear what Tabien had to say. I quickly penned a reply and my address on the front of the parchment. I called for Anna, my maid, to take it to the messenger boy who lived in the house. It was early evening, and I hoped he wouldn't be disturbing the gentleman, but I liked prompt replies, and so I sent them thus.
Dear Tabien de Valclesa,
I am interested to hear more of this proposition. You are more than welcome to join me for dinner tomorrow night to discuss this matter. Please send word by mid afternoon if you are available for attendance. Dinner starts at one hour to sunset.

That was quick. For some reason I hadn't expected a prompt response, thinking nothing was more expeditious then the temple trainees. I kept the courier as I red the response, writing a quick response of agreement, then tipping the messenger, I set him to return as quickly as he came.
I could use a good meal.
