Name: Sidonie Raviver, Baronesse le Écrivain
Age: 30
Height: 5'11
Gender: Female
Race: D'Angeline (Siovalese/Unknown)
Home Province: Camlach
Appearance: Sidonie's hair is long, very long, though is curly enough to be seen as shorter then that. Its colour is a golden wheat blond that she usually lets hang in a loose knot, the waves often lost behind her back. Her eyes are a strange colour, a blue so dark their black. The blue is a deep deep indigo thickly rimming the outside of her iris, the inside an almost crystal sky blue thats only noticeable when close up. She's relatively tall, probably more so then average, standing 5'11 from tip to top.
History: Sidonie has what can only be described as a tragic past. Not an overly complicated story, its the inspiration for her greatest stories though, so she holds onto it as best she can. It begins with her mother plainly enough, a woman of elegant means, wealth and station, but ended with her life in shambles.
Nicolette, her mother, was born to a wealthy and particularly aristocratic and illustrious family in Siovale, the youngest and only daughter of the family. Her father and mother were particularly strict people, though intelligent and quick witted, they were also course and terribly mean to Nicolette. The idea of Elua's blessed precept was utterly lost on them and as Nicolette grew into a gorgeous young woman, her fate had become all too clear. In order for Nicolette's father to raise his ranks, Nicolette was treated like a pawn and sold to the highest bidder.
So at sixteen she found herself in Azzalle being fostered at her future husbands home. At eighteen they wed and for a year and a half Nicolette had a relatively suitable life. Her husband was in line to receive his father's Duchy, so some what happily, she lived at the palatial estate learning the duties she would take over as Duchesse. They had been married for two years already, the pair having decided to wait some time before having children, Nicolette lit her candle just before her 20th natal. Hoping that a son would make her husband happy. But devastation struck on the night of longest night, at a fête on the estate she was brutally rapped by an unknown assailant. The incident left a bad taste in everyone's mouth and no one was indicated as her attacker. Though as the story goes though, bits and pieces have come to Sidonie's ears about the truth of her mother's fate. Some said that just before Nicolette's rape, an offer of marriage from another Duc in the realm passes the desk of the grooms father. It would seem that a more advantageous marriage would be made should they be able to rid themselves of Nicolette. Some have gone as far to have said that the attack was produced for just that very reason. Either way, its was then three months later she was apparent that she was well with child.
Her husband, claiming the child was the bastard of her rapist, would not have her and so had the marriage annulled and she was sent back to Siovale. And though she protested the word of her husband's family, knowing in her heart that it was her husband's child. Pregnant and dismissed from her future, she returned to her family. Had that been it, her life may have not been so down trodden as it turned out. But her family being as they were, they too did not welcome her and her unborn child, the disappointment of her family. Nicolette left her family home in Siovale and began to travel staying with kind families or helpful Tsingsani, whom ever would take her in. Some how she eventually up on the boarder of Camlach, eight months pregnant and almost at a point of death. Nicolette was found one cold day, passed out on the estate of Comte Maurice of Camlach. A servant took her from the spot she was found to the warmth of the house and in a week she was healthy once more. She told the story of her child's conception and that she had been in Azzalle, but she left out her family's name instead giving them the last name of Raviver, the only name Sidonie has ever known.
Nicolette started working as a house maid after Sidonie was born, and it was there she stayed ever since.
Sidonie was a strange child from birth, never crying or speaking loudly, generally taking everything in as she grew. That which she did with a cavalcade of house mates, the children of all the servants. Though she was a happy child, laughing and joking with those her age, she was often alone reading or staring at nature. It was at her tenth natal that Comte Maurice of the house gave her a set of writing quills as a gift and her love for writing took hold. After that, she went from shy to loner. Sidonie was teased greatly by her peers as she grew, they taunts and teasing only driving her deeper into writing genius. Because of this, she became quite quick witted and utterly sarcastic, a form of humour that was always lost on children her age. By fourteen Sidonie was a champion of the written word, the Comte was a fan of her highly intelligent writing and dark sarcasm often having her read to him after dinners. Her short stories and poems became his delight and she grew into a confident young woman despite her making. Her mother was proud of her, having always worried about how she would maintain herself having had the start she did, but Sidonie always rose above her circumstances. The Comte cared for Sidonie as though his own daughter and in so she was raised with the best of tutors, often having lessons with her 'cousins' the Comte's own children. Speaking lovely and fluent Aragonian, at the age of sixteen and on a whim, a collection of Aragonian transcriptions were sent to the King of Aragonia by Comte Maurice.
The King enjoyed her work very much and sent a letter of invitation to Sidonie to come and write for him, transcribing some old poems as well as writing some new ones. Like an internship. She accepted and just before her eighteenth natal, Sidonie gathered up her life and left to travel the length of Terre d'Ange before finding herself at the court of the King.
For six years Sidonie lived at the palace, sharping her wit and writing, making a living from her words. In her time there she wrote countless short poems over a dozen short stories, and had two novels published in Aragonian court. It was at her twenty fifth natal that recognition of her writing reached the ears of the Queen Sidonie (her name sake). Queen Sidonie read most of her writings and spoke to the monarchy of Aragonia, finding interest in the wayward child of Terre d'Ange. It was then that Sidonie was offered the title of Baronesse as well as a holding by the Queen, in acknowledgment to her writing.
Most of Sidonie's stories are very dark, dryly sarcastic and often deeply emotional drawing on her own experiences and feelings.
Sidonie is a dark person herself but is often paradoxically misrepresented in person. Many have commented that she looks nothing like one would in vision her. Though when she speaks one can most definitely tell where the origins of her stories come from. She has a wonderful humour, often causing much laughter from her comrades, her wit is undeniable sharp and she's often the first to contradict or challenge the voice of others.
Though at the fairly ripe age of 30, Sidonie has never married nor courted seriously though she's had requests. She finds the male species laughable in the least finding most men considerably unable to keep up with her and thus despairs the lot of them. Though she take lovers from time to time, writing is her real love.
Recently Sidonie has decided that she both desires a child and needs an heir. She has lit her candle in pursuit of that deciding to let the gods choose the father of that child.
