I had been wrestling sleep for a few hours when I finally decided to give in and roll from bed. Unable to sleep very soundly throughout the night had left me grogy, so I slipped on a light yellow linen dress and a pair of slippers and went out early that morning to the city. I passed through the market where peddlers were setting up thier stands and the sounds of stables being mucked and horses whinny. a slight fog hung in the air and the morning sun was cutting throught it quickly. It sent a lovely glow on Eula's square and I pause for a moment absorbing it. Before to long I was wondering through the Artisians District and spotted the sign for Cachette. A few chairs and side table sat out front a maid was setting out a couple of simple vases with single flowersin them. A cup of tea might be good for clearing my groginess. I sat at a seat near the door and she greeted me with a smile and asked me what I would like. I decided on a chamomille and watched the restof the shops start to come to life as she went to boil water.

I wanted to get out of the house that currently reminded me of sickness and sorrow. It was early still, but it meant the streets were quiet, and that was just what I wanted right then. However, the early hour did mean not many establishments were open, and I ended up going further afield than I had intended, ending up at a tea shoppe in the Artisans' District called Cachette.
I got down out of the carriage without help - though Nick was eager to lend a hand - and settled myself at one of the few tables outside. The server was just bustling inside with an order, but I didn't mind waiting a few minutes and smiled politely to the other patron of the shoppe.

As I watched the street come to life a carrige pulled up to the shop. It was well kept and nicely built. The lady who stepped out was much like her carrage, looking proper and pratical. She took a seat outside not far from me. I nodded politely and the maid returned with my cup of tea and a small plate of tea cakes. Then trned to take her order.

"A citrus tea please, and some of that delicious looking cake as well," I requested quietly enough, though the woman sitting at the table beside mine could undoubtedly here me. The server bustled off, happy I think that she had two early morning customers, and I turned to the lady beside me. "Lovely morning, is it not?" I was not usually so forward with strangers, but I needed some real conversation. Perhaps I would find it here.

"Quite so m'lady..." I looked back up at her wit an easy smile. "I enjoy the break of day. It's lovey to see the city while it sleeps. You could say I'm a morning person." I repositioned myelf to face her better and had a sip of tea. I held the saucer and cup so I wouldn't have to turn away from her attention again. "My name is Khyellomai no Gentain, you may call me Khyel though. May I ask what brings you out before the city awakes?"

"A need to get out of the house. I have been cooped up too long," I said with a soft smile. "I am Juliette L'Envers, it's nice to meet you Khyel. Please, call me Juliette."

"Beg my pardon," I said a bit surprised to hear her name, then continued. "It is a pleasure to meet you Lady Juliette L'Envers." I bowed and then smiled and said, "and per your request I would be glad to call you Juliette." I was still standing when the maid returned with the Juliette's order and I took my seat again.

And this was why I didn't like to give my L'Envers name. The server looked at us curiously, but placed my tea in front of me without comment, and I was glad of that at least.
"Please, you didn't have to do that," I said after the server was back inside. I thought it odd that she bowed, I wondered if she was not a she at all and if I had missed something important... "I'm not big on formalities."

"So I gather, Juliette." I paused a bit before saying her name. It was akward but i wanted her to knwo that here wish of me was first and formost. I had taken up my cup of tea again and had a sip. "You must understand, better then most; the demands of protocol. I am afterall an adept and such nicities are mere habit for me." I relaxed again and picked up a tea cake. Hoping I had not offened her with such brashness, but perhaps won through to her with a bit of understanding. Dispite how weak the thread may be.

"Of course, I understand," I said with a little smile. It was hard not to forgive her, she was quite earnest in her explanation and it wasn't the first time adepts had jumped straight into formalities.
A little pause and I continued the conversation along. "So what brings you down to the Artisans' District on this morning Khyel?"

"Actually I just kind of found myself here." I thought that may sound a bit odd so I elaborated. " What I mean is I didn't have anything specific in mind. I had a restless night of sleep and decided to get out for some air. Honestly, I felt I could use a day out. A calming cup of tea just seemed like a good way to start it." I sipped and followed up with the same question. "How about you Juliette, what brings you out at such an early hour."

"The need to escape for a time," I replied, mood darkening slightly. But I shook it off. "It was a good morning to do so as well, it's lovely out here." I took a sip of my tea.

"Yes, lovely... but you seem burdened? I will not press the issue, but your urge to escape may have led you here with purpose. I count nothing as chance. Not with my history. It maynot all be coincidence that you wound up shareing tea with a Gentian adept." I sippped my last bit and openned a small pocket on my waist for money. I left it on the table and rose to leave. I curtsied less formally then at our greeting as not to offend her. "Think on it Juliette. Not all our talent lie in the bedchamber at Gentian." I smiled simply. "It's has been a pleasure sharing tea with you."

My eyebrows first rose, then came together at her little speech. “It was my pleasure as well. I shall surely think of you if I have any mysteries to unravel.” That was politic enough that I was rather proud of myself, especially considering my irritation. I even managed a polite smile. I might be burdened as she put it, but it wasn’t her business, Gentian or no.
