I casually strolled though the kitchen to see what was being cooked. When I entered I saw the maid’s daughter doing dishes and deviously smiled. She saw me and blushed deeply before turning back to the dishes. Whenever the mood strikes me I sneak into her room at night. She gives no protest but worries about her mother finding out. Her mother had always disliked me and the many girls I snuck in and out of the house. I decided to let her be and continued on through the house.
“Rainier!” I heard an impatient voice call from the next room. I walked in to see Marc sprawled on the coach. This was not an unusual sight being as we are best friends.
“What!?” I replied just as impatient but knowing he was joking.
“Let’s go out!” He crazily yelled.
I chuckled and put an arm over his shoulders as he stood up. “I supposed we could do that.”
We went to a local tavern. There has always been something about me that seemed irresistible to the tavern girls around here. As soon as we walked in there were girls all around us and offers to buy me a drink. I politely declined the drinks and found a girl to my liking and whisked her off her feet carrying her to the rooms so well known to me. She giggled all the way, happy to be in my arms.
When we had finished she happily got dressed, still giggling. I lay there for a while pondering my life. I had always had dark desires that the simple people around here were not used to. I rarely ever let into them. Lately they had started growing ever more and when I looked at a girl, I would think about the subtlest way to make her scream. I leisurely got up, got dressed, and went to find Marc.
I found him surrounded by tavern girls, drinking merrily. This was the sight I always came back too. I started thinking about the city and the court of night blooming flowers. I knew I would not have to hide my dark desires there. And there I would see new people who did not already know me and my reputation. Right then and there I decided to leave Siovale, and go to the city.
The next day I departed.
