I know no one else felt it, but I did. The moment we crossed into Siovale, the vice around my soul began to tighten. The vice that loosened the further and longer I stayed away from home.
I sighed, pulling my cloak tighter around me. Without looking, I knew Marshall was watching me. He was worried, but didn't say it. He knew this was going to be the hardest thing I had ever done and there was no choice but to just do it.
The caravan kept moving, drawing closer to the Duc's estate and the end of the first part of the journey.
