I shook my head, and gave him an affectionate grin. “You drunkard, it’s so early, I don’t know how you can do it,” I said sweetly. I gave him another pat on the hand, and said, “You know, I really do have to go, but I want to see you soon, really soon. Can we meet two days hence…” I paused, thinking, “here, perhaps?”

I looked at it. "this early. You, my dear, don't know how to have a good time." I said with a chuckle. And I could bet a gold ducat that I could keep up with most of the scoundrels in this tavern. "I'll do you one better, I'll pay you a visit. You did say you wanted to help me with this, didn't you," I noted, nudging the strap holding the coin around my neck.

I smiled softly, nothing how I felt the amusing urge to get closer to said coin... or was it his skin? I shook it off - this was my best friend, my oldest friend, almost my own blood.
“Indeed, but with my current troubles at Bryony, I’d rather stay out,” I replied evenly. “I don’t want to draw any attention until I’ve made up my mind, if you don’t mind. Besides, don’t you want me to learn how to party?” I added with an arched eyebrow that expressed both suggestion and amusement. “Let's meet here, since it's your haunt, and see what we do from there. I'll see you just after sunset, and I'll bring the book. I don't need my library for this.”
With that, I stood, and leaned back to give him the kiss of parting. I let it linger, just a bit longer than required by tradition, and said, “Oh, Larq, I'm so glad you're back!” With that, I sauntered off, leaving him to foot the bill. He'd get me back on our next meeting, and that was fair and well.
Me, in the meantime, I had a bottle of perfume to purchase, and a Fete to get ready for.
