Oh, she thought she was SO intelligent, but at least now she'd left that girl-twit half-breathing voice behind. One goal accomplished to better mankind. "Lies and finery- no matter how much one enjoys them, they are still lies and finery. I'd rather be honest nap, meant to stay on the inside rather than covered in vapid trim."

"At least you know who you are," I remarked, noting the vague annoyance that threaded his tone. Perhaps he was not as much game as I had thought, and a shame for it, too.

"So true," I replied peacefully. "Andthe best of luck to those who wish as much ease discovering so about themselves." Raising my glass in a mock toast and winking I took a sip. Let's see who could be offended now.

My amusement grew as he openly mocked me, my ire not being pricked. "Very much agreed," I said softly, a smile on my lips.

Th conversation had taken an interesting turn, it was interesting how a simple statement had made two people behave in such a manner. I could only watch as it unfolded. I picked up my mug and took a sip of my ale not really knowing where to go. It reminded me of when I would visit my Shahrizai kin, though rare of me to visit my father had insisted I spend time with them. So I did, and much did I learn from those visits. Each day was like a game, one trying to top the other, and if you couldn't, if your wits were bested...Those consequences seemed too high, the price of pride I suppose. Each of my cousins always trying to prove their worth, each trying to prove their worth over me. No, those were never times I enjoyed, mostly because I'd do it to. Mostly because I became one of them and I was good. I enjoyed it.
