Arm in arm, I led her out, and looked down at her – Elua, she was so tiny! Would I even be able to – oh, Elua, what had I just signed myself for. But she was sweet and I longed to taste her lips, and as the carriage rode up to the front of the tavern, I offered her a hand up.
“Thankfully, it's not far,” I said softly in return.
I felt a bit light-headed. Elua, she was beautiful and what was I going to do with her? I had – little to no such experience and – would I – but she did hae a way to rouse me – and – Oh, Merciful Kushiel.
Guide me.
I never prayed to the angel of punishment – and I found this ironic in the extreme, but... perhaps he'd sent Calista to – somehow make it bearable.
Perhaps.
