Shared Past: Alais & Eric

[Alais nó Fermat]

I was running another errand for the Comtesse, but this time instead of sending me alone she sent me in the carriage. I was to pick several beauty related products as well some fabrics for a new set of drapes; though I didn't know why she'd just replaced the drapes last season. Either way she had given me leave to a few hours off with a few coin left over from her purchases that she said I could have.

Once her items were sent home in her carriage I wandered over to Nights Doorstep to look around. I didn't have much money so I knew it would go farther if I spent it there. Not sure where to spend it I decided to wander about to the different shoppes to see what there might be to buy. Choosing the Philistin to stop at first I entered and began to look around.

[Eric Lamont]

I didn't enjoy walking through Night's Doorstep, but it was the place to find cheaper clothing, which I needed right now. I found a promising looking shop and stepped inside. Most of my clothing was far too warm for the imminent summer.

As I looked around I noticed a familiar face, that of Alais. We had spoken a few times in my time at Alyssum, but we weren't really close. I wondered idly what she was doing here and approached. "Pardon me ... but I think we both lived in Alyssum together."

[Alais nó Fermat]

I hadn't really been paying attention to anything other then what clothing where in front of me, but when I heard the voice of someone close to me I jumped a little and turned to see a familiar face. I wasn't sure why, perhaps because he was another Alyssum, but I felt a strange wave of relief and smiled gratefully.
"Eric right?" It took me a moment but I remembered his name and curtsied to him with pleasure.
"It's good to see you again."

[Eric Lamont]

I smiled when she remembered my name. I really wondered if she would, especially when I wasn't certain that I remembered hers. "Alais isn't it? It's nice to see you too." Impulsively I gave her a hug. "How have you been?" I asked sincerely.

[Alais nó Fermat]

I was not only comfortable with the embrace he gave me but also elated with the fact. It was so nice to be around some one that was on my same level; another Alyssum that was. Despite never been happy at the Night Court I was always comfortable with the way they treated each other.
"I've been well." I replied softly. "My marque was purchased by the Comtesse de Fermat so I'm not Alais no Fermat." I explained with a soft blush.

[Eric Lamont]

I nodded. "Same here, in a way. There was an accident and it left me scared, hence the gloves and the long sleeves. So I'm just Eric Lamont now, messenger boy for Eisande. It's not a bad life. I enjoy it really. You though, what is it you do now?"

[Alais nó Fermat]

I furrowed my brow sadly as I came toward him a little and put my hand on his shoulder.

"I'm so sorry to hear that Eric." I said in a soft voice, my cheeks warming to a blush as I did. I wasn't sure what else to say beside that, it was a sad thing when one was cast from the Night Court simply because of such a thing.

"Are you at least happy?" I asked, worried that he was in a bad place now that he wasn't at Alyssum House.

[Eric Lamont]

"I am happy," I assured her with a smile to match. "Really I think I'm happier now than I ever had been before. There are times when I feel insecure yes, but I enjoy the freedom and the new friendships. And your new life ... do you enjoy it?"

[Alais nó Fermat]

I returned his smile with my own though when he asked about my new life it fell away a little and I shrugged.
"It's better then nothing and it's better then Alyssum House." I said forcing a little smile on my face.
"I don't get paid but my food and clothing is paid for and because I work for the Comtesse she always insists on the best." I chuckled a little then even as my cheeks flushed with red.

[Eric Lamont]

I nodded. "Yes, better than nothing..." I could tell that she wasn't pleased with it and I wished deep down that there was some way that I could help her. "How much freedom do you have?" I asked as I began to sort through some of the clothes, both for me and for her.

[Alais nó Fermat]

"Enough." I answered as I stood there unmoving, watching him as he moved. "Unfortunately I am at the mercy of the Comte and Comtesse but every now and then I manage free time and the things I have to do are not that bad." I shruged then reached to to touch the fabric of a gown coloured a dark red. It was a provocative piece that was likely more costume then suitable attire so the thought of it set me to blush even as my nipples hardened.

Some times I hated the curse that I sometimes felt I bore, even the mere whisper of humiliation sent my body cascading into lust and it was often that my nipples ached at the end of the day from they pushed against the rough fabric of my gowns.

I glanced to Eric briefly, hoping it would not look over as my cheeks blossomed red and I turned my body away from him to hide my shame.

[Eric Lamont]

"Hmm... yes, not bad, but not the best it could be... When you are free you should come and visit me," I said. I noticed she turned away a little and I pondered why.

The red dress she was looking at was incredibly revealing and I blushed some, the first time I had blushed in a while. "I think red suits you, Alais... what's something that would be your style?" I asked, placing a hand on her shoulder. Another question formed in my mind, but I waited on it.

[Alais nó Fermat]

I turned back, looking at the gown and I very much liked it. I thought about wearing it or even wearing it right now for Eric.

"I like the gown," I said softly. "Would you like to see it on?" Oh Elua... Naamah! Why had I just asked that! Oh I knew why, I craved the humiliation that's why. Even as I waited for him to respond I could feel my heart beating harder and faster in my chest.

[Eric Lamont]

She asked an odd question, but I smiled nonetheless. “Certainly,” I told her “Then maybe you can find something for me to wear.” We could make a game of it really. I was enjoying this, simply being able to talk with someone who shared my past, and have some fun as well. I could save my question for afterwards.

[Alais nó Fermat]

His reaction made me second guess myself and I shook my head.
"May hap not this one." I said then, not sure I could do something like that to Eric. He was a friend, not a patron.
"But I like that idea anyway." I added with a little smile. "What kind of clothing are you looking for?" I asked curiously.

[Eric Lamont]

I furrowed my brow at her sudden change of mind. “Alright...” I suppose people would still confuse me sometimes. “Well I just want something simple, more functional than anything, and something with a high collar,” I added.

[Alais nó Fermat]

Nodding at his words I looked until I found something, it was green with a high collar though it was rather fancy; I wasn't sure if it would be something she'd want.
"What about this?" I asked with a smile when I held it out for him.

[Eric Lamont]

I made a little surprised face and then quickly followed it with a smile. “Oh it’s perfect! I love it!,” I responded to her. It had been a while since I’d ever worn anything quite that fancy, and it was my favorite color to boot. “Thank you for finding it!” I told her, kissing her on the cheek before thinking.

[Alais nó Fermat]

He kissed me excitedly and I felt a deeply blush in pride at both the excitement he felt and the fact that he had kissed me.
"You're welcome." I replied happily, not sure how to take his reaction. "Will you try it on?"

[Eric Lamont]

“Of course!” I told her excitedly, taking it from her and giving her another hug, so unlike the Eric she knew back in Alyssum. I went back to the changing room and put it on. It felt good on me and I walked out with a little bit of pride, something I never had before. I smiled and tipped my head to the side just a little bit. “How do you like it? How do I look?”

[Alais nó Fermat]

I blushed again, ducking my head after he pulled away from the hug and watched him disapear behind the changing curtain. When he came back and grin and clasped my hands together against my breast.
"Oh Eric it looks wonderful." I said softly. "You look so handsome."

[Eric Lamont]

Her reaction made me smile brightly and her words made me blush just a little bit and glance down. But when I looked at her again I was all smile and sparkling eyes and I walked right up to her. “I’ll keep it then … but now we need to find something for you and also something simple for me.” I looked around and found another dress, red, like the previous one, but much more conservative, though the neckline still dropped considerably and it was a little form fitting. “Try this one?” I offered.

Eric was such a sweet soul and I nodded when he returned with a gown. I took it and then took a couple more off the rack before going behind the changing curtain. I changed into the red one first, the one that Eric had picked and stepped out of the area.



My hands clasped in front of me and I ducked my head a little and smiled as I came out to look at Eric.
"I like it." I said softly.

[Eric Lamont]

"It's beautiful," I said, the firsts things that came out of my mouth. "And so are you," I added, a truer compliment never spoken. "I think you should get it. And we can wear our things together and match." I smirked just a little bit, picturing us in red and green walking down the street with one another.

[Alais nó Fermat]

Blushing at his comment, my gaze dropped to the floor and I smoothed my skirts with a smile before looking back up at him.
"Thank you." I said softly as I went toward him. "We do look awfully dapper don't we." I chuckled as I came to stand beside him and looped my arm around his.

"Though I think I should put on a green gown." I added. "How about I try one on and see how much of a greater match we can make." I giggled then and picked out a couple of green gowns before disapearing behind the curtain again.



"I think this one is perfect." I called form behind the curtain before coming out toward where Eric was.
"What do you think?"

[Eric Lamont]

She looped her arm in mine and I glanced at the two of us together and it made me smile even more and I felt relaxed. “That we do,” I muttered softly. Soon though she was off to the changing room with a green dress and I was left waiting again. While we did so I looked for a simple shirt that would work for me as well. But she was out before I’d made a selection and I smiled.

“I would have to agree!” I told her. “It’s lovely on you, and we make quite the pair,” I added, with softest pink on my cheeks.

[Alais nó Fermat]

I went toward Eric and wrapped my arms around his neck in a deep enbrace, holding tight to me as I bounced a little.

"We should go out together, dressed all fancy. We can pretend we're of the peerage rather then just being servants." I chuckled and pulled back to look at him.

"We could save up our money and go to a fancy dinner and dance and take a carriage ride." I laughed and spun a little before looping my arm around his again.

[Eric Lamont]

When she embraced me I blushed but put my arms around her waist all the same. They way she talked made me smile and get excited with her. “Let’s do it! We should go pay for these and do it! We’ll be all high society and not have a care in the world,” I said, giving her a kiss on the cheek and taking her hand while our arms were looped together.

[Alais nó Fermat]

I grinned as he became as excited as I and I let out a happy sigh.
"Oh yes, lets." I said letting go of him. "I'm going to change and pay for these, you do the same." I bounced off the the curtain quickly and changed taking the two gowns to the front and paid before turning to wait for Eric to do the same.

"Where should we eat?" I asked him with unfailing excitement.

[Eric Lamont]

I nodded and followed her, paying for my outfit and a pale blue shirt that I stumbled upon on the way. I made my purchases and was back with Alais, offering her my ungloved hand on which there was the faintest hint of a scar. “Well let’s see... How much do we want to spend? There’s a place around here, or we can up uptown.”
