I just laughed, finally looking away from the place and over at her. “You really want to?” I asked, simply curious, neither endorsing or condemning the idea. “I think we can probably get into the gardens without too much trouble,” I added, a little more endorsing that time.

Normally I wouldn't have been so daring, but having tasted uncomplicated freedom today, I was decidedly crossing over to the reckless side. "Well, yes," I nodded. "Though only if you come too." I smiled up at him, only the slightest challenge in my voice. "Gardens sound lovely. Let's try that."

"I wouldn't dream of letting you go in there alone ... I'd be far too jealous!" I told her with a wink. On impulse I let go of her hand and began running down the hill towards the Palace. "You'd better hurry up!" I called back, my feet not going as fast as they could, allowing her the chance to catch up. We were both living in a state of complete abandonment and I was enjoy every single second of it.

He let go of my hand and began to run down the hill, calling out behind him, and I almost choked on a laugh.
"Not fair!" I yelled, before I too, picked up my skirts and ran down the hill after him. My speed increased with the steepness of the hill, the wind tearing my hair out of its customary plait as I caught up and overtook him. I slowed towards the base of the hill, waiting for Eric to cover the few metres between us. Out of breath from running and laughing, I pulled a spare ribbon from my dress pocket to rebraid my hair into tidyness.
"I hope you don't plan on making that a habit," I panted, breathless but amused.

“You never know,” I teased, taking her hand and leading her to the gates which were guarded but open. “Well I guess we don’t have to worry too much about sneaking,” I leaned in and whispered to her. We walked inside and at once followed a side path to the gardens. There were actually quite a few others out and about and it took away most of the nerves that I had had about the entire thing. “Beautiful, isn’t it?”

The anti climax at not having to sneak in quickly disappeared as I marvelled at the garden. It was particularly lovely as it was early spring; the flowers were beginning to blossom.
"Indeed it is, like something out of a fairy tale. I wouldn't envy being royalty for anything in the world, except maybe this. Imagine, being able to come here whenever you like."

“Well, from the looks of things, we can do that, so I guess you don’t have anything to envy them for.” I gave her hand a little squeeze as we looked around us. There were so many flowers and I didn’t know the names to half of them. Some were simple and filled with bright colors, others were amazingly intricate. I stopped and looked around before plucking one and smelling it before stopping and affix it in Raisa’s hair. “Should we find a bench with a nice view?”

"Ok," I looked away quickly to hide the blush I knew suffused my face when he put the flower in my hair. "There's a nice one over there."
As I led him towards it and sat down, a thought struck me. "Do you think... Elua himself might have wandered here."

I sat with her and the thought struck wonder in me. “I... I’d never considered it. It’s quite possible.” I looked around me, everything hushed though there were a great many people around us talking, some kissing and sharing affection. But Raisa had set my mind to higher things and I silently said a prayer for her, that she would live as freely as I did now.

I looked up at Eric. He seemed quite at peace, thinking of something. Idly, I picked a dandelion and blew the little spores off. "I wonder, if he's watching, if he's happy with the way everything has turned out."

"He may very well be ... I don't know if he'd be happy about everything. I know that so often we let the fact of who we are get in the way of what we are called to do. We don't follow the precept as well as we could. He gave us freedom and we turn around by tying ourselves down and regulating it," I said, saying more than I planned. In fact I was a little surprised by how much I had in me to say.

"Freedom is a gift," I agreed. "But so is love, not to be taken lightly. Maybe that's why people feel the need to control it and treat it thusly."
I looked at him for a moment, taking in his gentle seriousness. There had been a subtle depth of feeling behind his words, and I wondered if maybe one day I'd find out why exactly he felt that way. Wanting to bring the carefree smile back to his face, I stood up and extended my hand.
"Well, come on, let's take a look inside." I smiled.

I nodded at her words and I agreed with them, but I knew that we could go much deeper into that discussion and I relished the chance to do that soon. For now though the goal was to keep the mood light and it was time to take a look at the rest of the palace. "Let's" I said, hopping up and taking her hand once more. OOC (annd scene
