She patted me and I found comfort in it and then I cut my gaze at her. She told me she loved me and I was surprised and had to spend a moment studying my own feelings considering I was not at all sure about them. Finally I decided yes I loved her as well considering we were siblings and love and hate are kissing cousins. I patted her back “I love you to sister.”

Well... this entire conversation had not gone as expected. Not that the events were bad, quite the opposite in fact. I smiled at him in reply as the carriage bumped up a curb, and I knew our arrival was imminent. "Ready to make nice?" I asked.

I rolled my violet eyes toward the top of the carriage “I live to make nice.” Obviously not true but I was at least going to do my level best to put a happy face on it.
