There was a quite a gathering inside, and I had to thread through it delicately so as not to upset drinks or disturb the other guests. I could only be thankful for my height at that moment for it afforded me an easier vantage from which to look for the man of the hour, the man who had used my patron gift to such impressive ends. I bit my lower lip and cast about, thinking of his lovely face twisted with the sting of the marquist's needle, wondering if he had thought of me since then.
I found his flame-red hair, dazzling against the rich furnishings, and saw him smiling brightly, pushing away that dark-haired Mandrake adept who had also performed at the Shahrizai fete. Ah, that smile… I went to him directly, hardly noticing the winding way I had to take between the other guests.
"Tabrik migoyam, Ratu. Congratulations," I said softly, giving him the slightest of polite bows. "You must be overjoyed to be finally embarking upon this new adventure, which you have anticipated so long." My eyes rose to his then with reluctant curiosity. I had no idea how I would be received, and I did not wish to overstep myself should he have… misplaced remembrance of me.

I followed Crispin, wondering who he had spotted that was free. It was somewhat difficult following him through the crowd, and I hoped we reached her before someone else did.

I could not help but grin at Asfandiyar's behaviour, as if he expected that I would not remember him. I could not fathom how I would ever forget such a unique individual.
"Thank you, my dear," I said, leaning over to give him the kiss of greeting, oblivious to Emile's disapproving glare. "I expect your presence here means that my invitation was not misplaced? I would have delivered it myself, but this business of setting up a salon is...tiring..." I turned, then, draping my arm across Emile's shoulders. "My brother, Emile. Emile, this is Asfandiyar Azarkevanejad, of Drujan."
Emile managed to murmur something that sounded like a polite greeting, giving our guest a small bow, but I could see that he did not know what to make of 'Fand, or, indeed, of most of my guests.
I released Emile from the subtle hold I had over him, gently taking my guest's hands. "Come this way for a moment," I said, gently leading him to where my mother sat, chatting amicably with one of the guests while my father sat wearing a glower that was much like the one on his middle son's face.
"My lady mother, lord father," I began. "Might I introduce Asfandiyar Azarkevanejad, of Drujan, one of my most esteemed patrons?"
My father favoured him with his gaze for but a moment before turning away in obvious distaste, presumably because my patron was not, in the strictest sense, female and therefore marriageable. Fortunately, my mother was in higher spirits.
"Hello there, dear," she said, smiling up at him as she took his hands in her black-gloved ones. "It is a pleasure to finally meet one of my son's mysterious patrons. He does like to cultivate an air of mystery about him, but he is hardly fooling anyone, is he?" She chuckled, as if they were old friends sharing a private joke. I schooled my expression to one that was more neutral as I gently extracted my guest's hand from hers.
"Now now, Mother, what did I tell you about making my guests nervous?" I teased.
She laughed, and I leaned down so she could press her lips against my cheek. "Run along and enjoy yourself!" She whispered, smiling up at 'Fand as she dismissed us with a wave of her hand.
"Apologies, my mother is still a Mandrake, even if she has not served Naamah for a few decades now," I said, hoping she had not frightened him with her forwardness.

As I scanned the crowd, I saw a male and female heading my way. From first glance they didn’t appear to be peers, but at the moment I would be more than happy to just have anyone to talk to. I smiled and stayed where I was.

It took a minute to get there, but luckily we were the first. "Greetings," I said to the woman, a warm smile on my face. "I'm Crispin, and this is my friend Kaden."

“Greetings to you both,” I said, still smiling and curtseying politely. My instincts told me they were adepts, but not having introduced themselves as such I was not going to take the chance of insult. “I am Olivia no’ Valerian. It is a pleasure to meet you.”

I watched as the long haired man before me, walked over to Landis, and I remembered him, from the showing a few months back, and how he had worn Landis' token around his neck as I did now. My cheeks heated mightily, and I walked into the room proper, standing a safe enough distance away so that I could watch the dealings. he introduced him to his parents, and I watched, feeling my stomach knot, wondering who this man was to be getting this sort of treatment, and feeling myself grow jealous, and for what exactly? I tried to calm myself, my hands balling into fists, and procured a drink from a nearby table of refreshments. Wine, which I sipped, while I still watched, with lowered head, so that it did not seem like I was actually awtching. Landis' parents... and his brother Emile, no doubt, was the man at his side though they did not have teh same flaming red locks. I wondered if I would meet them, and if I did, what on earth I would say. Perhaps this man was a blessing in disguise, but still, instead of rushing away to powder my nose or make myself scarce from fear, I stood and atched as they conversed.

"Is it?" I asked, looking around. "I've just gotten here really, I haven't had much chance to experience anything really." Well, I had but it certainly wasn't worth mentioning. "Are you two here as guests or contracted?"

I bit my lip at the wickedness in his smile, and flushed harder at he way he spoke so freely with others around. I stepped closer to him so that I might both lower my voice and satisfy my body's urging. "That's very flattering. Certainly far more than I could have hoped for."

My hand slipped around her delicate waist and drew her even closer, my hand resting against her lower back.
“No more than you deserve, my dear,” I murmured, then leaned in and brushed my lips against her ear.
“Just the thought of you can make me hard,” I whispered. “Touch me and see how much your presence has excited me.”

I was bored! The horror of it all, the dirty horror. I was in my element with no one to talk to, to seduce.... I let out a small sigh and meandered around, looking for something less potent than the drinks served and on finding none decided to go without. My eyes were wandering highwaymen in the night, waiting to alight upon some lass. It was all I lived for.

I arrived at Landis' new salon after most of the guests. I had not seen him for some time and was curious to see his new endeavor. I wondered for a few moments before seeing Landis speaking with two adults who had to be his parents. He also had the strange dark haired man I had meet in the halls of Mandrake. It had been a while but that was a person one did not easily forget. I decided to walk over and say hi. I did so slowly though, wanting to hear the conversation that was taking place.

“Yes, his name is Landis,” I said, unable to keep all the confusion from my voice. How did they end up here if they didn’t even know Landis’s name or what House he’d been in? Were they just wandering by?
“How did you hear about his Salon opening?” I asked. “I know it was the talk of Valerian.”

I froze first at the thought of touching him like that so publicly. But then I realized, it wasn't as public as I feared, my body would shield my motion from most of the room. There was only a small chance anyone would see. And that small chance was a thrill.
My hand snuck out, skimming along his breeches until it found the obvious lump. I traced the length only briefly. "I'm impressed you had the patience to wait," I whispered, my core growing hot with my desire for him.

Her touch made me moan ever so softly and a lovely shiver to run along my spine.
"You are worth waiting for, my sweet," I replied lowly. My tongue traced the edge of her ear before I drew back slightly.
"My appetites are running deep and dark today however," I told her, my hand coming up to caress her hair softly. "I don't know if you wish to take the chance of being my meal. I would hate to do anything to sour your taste for me."

“Of course,” I replied. “Few things travel through the Houses faster than news of an adepts success.” I smiled and my glance flicked to Landis. I really was happy for him, even if he’d thought no better of me than to use as some joke on his brother. I looked back at the pair in front of me.
“From what you’ve said, the news at Gentian seemed a little vague,” I said by way of explanation. “I just wondered if it was different there.”

"I saw that an adept had gain success and opened a salon," I said. "And that his salon will be the talk of the town for some time." I had seen the success of the salon in the dromonde when I didn't consciously call up it. My mind had wandered away with me and my gift merely came.
