"Aragonian food is quite lovely," I said. "I enjoy it whenever I make port there. Have you ever been to Aragonia?"

"Sadly no. But perhaps in a few years, when matters with the estate are sorted out," I said with a smile. I certainly didn't want to tell him straight-out that I was not old enough to travel there alone, and Uncle Azriel was certainly not going to accompany me, he was too busy with his love life. "What is it like?"

"It's quite lovely," I answered. "In a different way than here, but still beautiful. The people I have met have been quite nice. Most of those people have been sailors or military though, so I do not know how much that skews things."

"Well how do d'Angeline military personnel compare to the general population?" I asked with a smile.

“To the Aragonian public or the d’Angeline public?” I asked, returning her smile as we made the right after the glass shoppe.

"D'Angeline. I think it might be a fair extrapolation," I explained.

“In my experience,” I began, hoping what I might say would not unwittingly offend her, “The military personnel are more disciplined as well as open minded. Service forces the discipline while exposure to so many other cultures opens the mind.”

"That's not the first time that I've heard the notion that most here are closed-minded," I observed. "I for one would love to see how different cultures do things. It's one thing to read it, it would be another to experience it."

“There is nothing like experiencing something for oneself,” I agreed. “Only so much can be related through a written description. The architecture for example, one must see it with your own eyes before you can have an honest opinion of it.” I liked that she wanted to know things for herself, it showed a good mind. “If you ever do travel, I would be more than happy to give you the names of some wonderful places to see and safe places to stay.”

"Oh," I said, his words and the sincerity behind them surprising me. "I would very much appreciate that."

“It would be my pleasure,” I said. I saw a sign hanging ahead. “I think I’ve spotted our destination.”

"Fantastic. Are you hungry?" I asked him as we made our way to the door.
