"Not bad. Feels the same from the last visit."

“Good,” I said, returning to her with a jar of salve. “A couple more moments and then I will apply the salve and bandage you up.”

"Okay." I crossed my legs at the ankles.

She moved slightly, just a little, but enough it made me sigh internally. It seemed adepts just couldn’t be still anymore.
Gently I tested the skin around where she’d just been inked. “I’m going to put some salve on. It will help with the pain and the healing. I’ll give you a pot to take home.” Carefully I began to put on the salve.

It stung at first, and felt cool at the same time. "Okay." I laid there, not moving even to uncross my ankles.

“Alright,” I said when I was done. “Sit up slowly and then I will bandage you.” I set the pot of salve aside. “Do you need help?”

I uncrossed my ankles and brought my legs up under me and went up to kneel and shifted so I would have my legs dangle from the edge of the table.

She didn’t answer my question, just moved and so I assumed she didn’t need help. I retrieved the bandages and once she was up I carefully wound them around her. I tied them off and then handed her the smaller pot of salve. “If you run out before you are healed, just come back and I will give you another.”

"Thank you, Messire Kachine," I said. I moved off the table, mindful of the bandages and returned to the privacy curtain to don my clothing and to hang the robe that surely had winkles in it by now. A few minutes later, I reemerged from behind the curtain and gave a small curtsy to Kachine. "Have a nice day, Messire."

“And you as well,” I said with a smile and a nod of my head.

I returned the smile and went to the door, leaving the salon.
