“Better than any morning for what seems like forever,” I answered with a smile. “Would you like me to show you your room?”

I smiled brightly at her words. "I am glad for that!" i said, and I was. She was dealt some pretty hard cards, and I understood loss. I had lost everyone, save my sister. "And that would be very good, thank you. Oh," I said before she could show me where to go, "should i start bringing in my belongings?"

“Unless there is something you don’t want touched, your things will be brought up shortly,” I replied, still smiling. I could tell he was like my father in the respect that as a soldier he was used to doing most of the heavy lifting himself.

"Ah, right," I said with a chuckle, feeling just slightly embarassed. I was used to doing everything, so it was different this having people do things for me. "No there is nothing that shouldn't be handled. I've most of my immediate weaponry on me," I explained. That was generally teh only thing I might have balked at other people touching. A man's sword was sacred. And though I might not have been as reverent as others, having more of a laid back attitude, I still respected my work, and the tools I worked with.
"I will follow your lead," I said cheerily as I waited for her to lead the way to my room.

“This way,” I said with a smile, leading him upstairs and to his room. “I hope it is suitable. Please let me know if there is anything else at all that you need.”

She showed me to my room and I had to force my jaw not to drop. it was a terribly large room. Larger than my bedroom had been back at the town house. My brows rose and I looked at her with a smile.
"It is even large enough that I could do my exercises inside without gauging out pieces of the wall," I said with a chuckle. I looked around. The bed was large, and there was a door leading to the bathing chamber like she had said. I nodded, looking around at my new home. "It is perfect, my lady, thank you." I turned back to her, with a wide grin. "And I do not need anything, I do not think. It looks ... well... perfect, really," I said as I turned back to the room, looking at it, around it, walking into the room a bit, and then turning to face her. "Thank you," I said, with a bow, my thanks sincere. When I straightened, the smile had not left my lips.

I was pleased that he liked the room. When he bowed again, I blushed softly, but my smile never faltered.
“You are very welcome, Maurice,” I said. “If at some point you do find you need something, please tell me or anyone on the staff.” I took a deep breath and then found the strength to say what I was going to next. “This afternoon, I would like to go out and do some shopping. Will you be settled by then?”

Her cheeks turned a soft pink, and I averted my eyes for a moment, though my smile never faltered, and brought them back to her as she inhaled deeply.
"Of course!" I exclaimed. I was excited, a little nervous, but very excited. I wanted her to trust me, and this showed that she did. "I will be ready. Though, I do have to ask," and I chuckled a little self-consciously, "ahh... well what should I wear," I said, looking up at her, my head bowed as my fingers coursed through my locks. "I know you mentioned a uniform in de Somerville colours, but I have not been fitted as yet, so," I let my hand fall to my side, "what would be best?"

“Oh no, no uniform,” I said, shaking my head a little. He had misunderstood. “I will give enough funds in addition to your pay so that you may maintain clothing that won’t draw attention should we venture somewhere formal, but there is no need for you to be in uniform or in my House’s colors.”
I smiled and looked him over. “What you have on will be just fine for today. I just want to see if I can do this, if I can get out. I doubt we’ll be out long…” my voice faltered for a moment. “I just have to know if I can.”

"Ah excellent," I said laughing a little. I nodded understanding, with a smile. "Something tells me you can," I said with conviction, "and that you will. I will be ready whenever you give word to go."

I moved to the side as his things began to arrive.
"I will see you later then," I told him. "Feel free to get comfortable with the layout of the house after you settle in."

I smiled and inclined my head. "Thank you again," I said as I watched my chests go into my new room. I walked inside and looked around, chuckling softly. It was magnificent! I could only wonder at what the rest of the house looked like.

I left him to settling in and went to make sure the word had been spread through the house that he was to be treated not as a servant or a guest, but as a member of this house.
After that, the trial of going shopping loomed.
